I had 2 Belgian Pink bought plants in separate parts of the garden and they both look like the wicked witches feet after the ruby slippers were taken off.
It had to be the soil they were in when I bought them.Other plants next to them are doing fine.
Cherokee Carbon and Brandywine Red ailing also,but that could be my soil in the cement blocks.Moskvich tomatoes still green and refuse to go red.

Taladegra was an earlier dud, that simply died early on. Sunneva is a dud now, I might yank, to plant something else.

Pythium wilt, I would guess. It takes over very quickly.

Possible aphid damage on the belgians,I did buy a pepper plant that had aphids already on it.
I have a couple of mortgage lifter that are the same size as when I planted them 6 weeks ago.
They had blossoms when puny and my fingers refused to pluck them off.
I have plenty of replacements for plants that expire early.

Lucid Gem. I generally have almost no BER in my containers. There are certain varieties which never had it during the years. This one is on another level. The first batch got ber really early, and now the new ones have the same problem. And it's sitting in the same pot with a heart tomato, notorious for ber, which has none. At this rate I'm looking at zero production.

Japanese Pink Cherry is disappointing. It seemed ok as a seedling, but now it looks like a runt compared to all the others. At least it has some flowers and a few little tomatoes forming, but I wonder what an earth happened.......

Sunrise Bumblebee - mine seems to be a dwarf... I expected a monster, indeterminate, large cherry but it seems to be stuck in the foot tall stage and not going anywhere but is setting fruit. Season is early so hoping for a growth spurt.

I had to pull 2 momotaros out of an Earthbox recently, broke my heart cuz they were the 2 healthiest, largest plants out of all the rest. They started yellowing from the top, with brown speckles. The few fruits I picked were dry with light inside flesh. The medium was fresh & the EB was washed before planting. I've never ever had to get rid of a tomato in an EB before.
I'm also going to remove an in-ground Paul Robeson right next to it, not because it's diseased but because it's not a real PR. The fruits are black, yes, but large cherry size, in clusters. I would keep it but it's not a good producer at all & I have another variety at the ready in a pot that is asking me to plant it in the nice soil.

Plus I have 2 that I just got and waiting for real estate to become available.

I am losing Valencia to aphids and white fly.
Has to be something that was in the ground when I bought it.
I took a clean cutting to clone with a tiny green tomato that with hopefully turn orange one day.

I grow in containers too and Lucid Gem has been a disappointment. Fruit are small and too much BER.

Thought I'd Post in here as some may miss, is this a dud, it forgot to do an apex growth.
Is there anything I can do to encourage an offshoot ?

the cutting I put in my rain barrel to see how long the pests can hold their breath.
It dawned on me today I save mailing envelopes with embedded bubble wrap and they float.
I did the lily pad approach and have the plant floating around on that with the stem in the water.
Should be a fun experiment to see if it roots.
I never did a clone in water before.

Taking inventory today I noticed plants that don't even have blossoms yet and their siblings do.
Seriously thinking of doing a grip and rip to free up spots for plants still waiting their turn.
Then again, it is a segregated area I want to save seeds from.
I may let the underachievers live, but I won't stake them.

I believe it's determinate type so I may just end up with a plant with no tomatoes on it.

a sub-category of plants that started off good, but aren't taking the heat/drought very well.
Brandywine hybrids like red,genuwine and brandy man.
The red died before it even formed blossoms.
the genuwine have a few tomatoes but the plants are cashing it in.
Brandy man got off to a late start and wasn't big enough to fight off the elements.
