@midwestfarmwife

I have Boggs Yellow, and need some information on it, if you can help.

From the top of my "Unknown" list: Boggs Yellow- Ind. or Det.? O.P. or Hybrid? Leaf type? Days to Maturity? Height?

Thanks for any help!
SO GLAD to be back! I was locked out for about three months, for some strange reason.

Missed you all terribly!

Karol Galbiati (Gabby1, here) would be the source for info on Boggs Yellow. I think she is also a big part of Rosedale Tomato Works (on Facebook).

I am mailing this week several packets of the following: Zupska Rana pepper, Dwarf Wild Spudleaf, Ulru Ochre, Dwarf Sweet Sue, Rosella Purple, Dwarf Emerald Giant and Mexico Midget.

The tomatoes are all diminutives, 5 dwarves and one midget. Also, one oxymoron, Dwarf Emerald Giant.

Thanks!

Ok. Finally brought down my information sheet. Not that I recorded much.

For me, the only factor I consider is taste. These were some of the best. Unfortunately I did not record results for about 25% of the varieties I grew. If they were less than average (<7/10), I would have recorded it.

Black Bear
Blues Bling
Bordovyi
Brandywine from Croatia
Brandywine Glicks
Daetwyler
Eva Purple Ball
Fish Lake Oxheart
Grant County Pink
Kosovo
Limbaugh's Legacy Potato Top
Oncle Remi

Pink Berkley Tie Dye
Rebel Yell
Red Rose
Sandul Moldolvan
Soldacki
Tiffen Mennonite

Thanks so much @Toomanymatoes! A few I’ve grown, a couple are planned for next year and all others duly noted for the future.

I am sending in tomatoes but wanted to mention that I am sending in packets of University of Georgia’s new
Orange Bulldog Pumpkin. (Hybrid).

It’s done phenomenal in Florida. Created with germplasm from South America it has virus resistance. (I didn’t find specifics). It appears squash vine borer oblivious.

I hadn't heard of this so thank you for posting it! Orange Bulldog just might be my garden toy for 2024 and will have to send in the order form soon to get in line for a seed purchase. :)

Envelopes #4 & #5 were returned, I guess too lumpy for letter mail. I have re-mailed with just the tomato/pepper seed, so unfortunately no bulk packs of beans, garlic bulbils or calendula will be coming. Sorry.

If anyone is interested in these seeds, send me a PM and I’ll try to mail you a less bulky letter.

I will take the bean seed off my Wish List in case the US Posties also have an issue with “lumpy”.

Flowers (most are 3 units each) - Please be aware that some perennials require 90 days in moist soil at less than 40 F to break dormancy. I will include small pieces of paper with some germination information that can go in the package with any of the perennial seeds. It will have a website where you can look up specific instruction by Latin name. I would appreciate feedback on any seeds that do not germinate using the reference instructions. You will need to confirm that the perennial is hardy for your zone. Most plants listed below are perennials with a few Biennial and annuals varieties. Bagging up seeds for the swap and I realized I had more seeds from the Orange Leysa pepper then I thought. My seeds come from two different peppers/batches. The one I have already bagged gave me close to 100% germination on the few seeds I tried to sprout. The other batch was much lower at about 50%. I have not bagged those yet but could get another 2 or 3 packets of seed from them since I would put close to 20 seeds in each due to the lower number I had sprout. Should I send those in marked as low germination? Or just save for my use next year?

Grin @Tormato I did a bag with plenty of seeds marked for you, then there are 5 bags for the swap from those high germination rate seeds. So without the lower germination rate seeds I won't have a full 10 bags for the Orange Leysa but will send the 5 in anyway.

Edited to add

Packed up and ready to be mailed tomorrow are:

Orange Leysa Sweet Pepper x5
Orange Leysa Sweet Pepper- low germination x3

Tomatoes
Puck
Big Hill
Gandalf
Utyonok
Alaskan Fancy
Wyoming
Zone 5
Elevation : 6,063 ft
Climate : semi-arid
Avg annual rainfall = 16 inches
