How to Stay Up to Date with Posts at TJ

If you use your 'Quick links' tab when you log in, you can see every new post and every post that you have not read yet. This is a great way to be sure that you have not missed something that may be of interest to you.

Then there is the 'Notifications' tab on the left side of your screen. Here you well see if someone is trying to get your attention by quoting you or if they have reacted to one of your comments.

These tools are so useful. Give them a try. They will help you navigate faster and keep you up to date with what is happening on the board.

You can also just click on "new posts" instead of using the pulldown menu. That is what I do as well as "notifications". What is the difference between "new posts' and "unread posts"?

@Sue_CT There may be some old posts that you just scrolled by and didn't read.

Numbers of 'em.
In unread posts, I have 720 matches, at least 29 pages of 'em.

I only have 49. But that is probably because when they get beyond one page I read the ones I am interested in and then click "mark all read". So probably why my New posts and Unread posts are either the same or very similar.

They seem to stop counting at 1000. I have more than 1000 but I don't know how many more, 40 pages at 25 per page is 1000.

If you have that many, it is probably because you are not logged in. When it logs me out I see that because it doesn't recognise you so it doesn't know which ones you have read I guess, and makes them all unread. Once I log in it goes back to only what I really haven't seen.

I think I had over 2,000 notifications at one time.

I don't remember the last time I logged out. Two or three weeks ago I had to restore my computer with a clone which required me to log in once the machine was up and running.

Because you likely knew, that I didn't know, what a notification was?

I don't log out either, but sometimes it just logs me out. I just click on remember me and log back in and I am good for a while. I have found that if I am waiting someplace with time to kill and log in on my phone browser to read the posts, when I get back to my laptop it has usually logged me out. There might be some thing on this forum that only allows you to be logged in on one device at a time. But maybe you just have that many unread posts and never get rid of them, too. I just notice it myself, like I said, when it has logged me out.
