This morning my e-mail contained the latest blog from "Sustainable Market Farming" by Pam Dawling who goes by farmerpam. Pam is located in Virginia.
https://www.sustainablemarketfarming.co ... er-season/
This is a great article even for those of us who don't garden on a large scale. Pam gives some great tips on learning the ins and outs of gardening and organizing garden efforts. There's a lot to think about for both gardening beginners and those who have been at it a long time.

I like the first large picture, of the "green onions".
In my garden, that's been the most fool-proof crop, me being a great fool at times.

I still have scallions/green onions out there that I planted seeds for about this time of last year, that look like small leeks! And a bunch of others I planted in spring, that are about "store" size now. Those huge ones I chop up one, for a Chinese recipe, and it's about the same as 6 of those store sized! I also cut them off level with the ground, and they grow back - you can't kill those things! Unfortunately, when I grew them indoors, in hydro, they attracted aphids. Yet this never happens outside!
