I had at one time thought abot the summer sunrise but changed my mind because it supposodly grows up to 5'tall and the variation of fruit size ( from 4 to 24 OZ ) is to big a swing for me. All mine would probably be the 4oz version

@rusty I agree there on the summer sunrise mine arnt looking to good do think I’m gonna toss and find another one I’m growing all mine indoors they will not see the outside just an exsperment I’m doing.

Determinate dwarfs or indeterminate dwarfs (tree type, Dwarf Project type)?

Orange Pixie is a determinate dwarf.

@Tormato why I’m trying the orange pixie because of how small the plant get it will fit nicely on my shelf

I'm real excited to give dwarfs a try, although I'm still going to be growing entirely too many heirloom indeterminate, too!

I must have missed it. However I've already started on a list since Fat Frog, Lille Lise, Minibel and Curley Kaley all popped up yesterday. There are about four more I intend to get to later in the spring..

I kept all the ones on my list and added dwarf Purple Heart !! I’ll just top the plants to keep them compact for my indoor space

I'd be very curious to hear how everyone's dwarfs are growing this year. I've only grown a couple, but have read many threads over the years about dwarfs. Some glowing reviews, and some, not so much. I've hesitated to commit to growing more than one or two, as I have limited space.

I have grown Dwarf Pink Passion, which was productive. Also Maglia Rosa, which was a champ last year and back again this year.

Next year, I want to grow Wherokowhai, because I think it may do well in my climate and conditions. Not that I should be thinking about next year already. I've only harvested one ripe (cherry) tomato so far this year (which was not Maglia Rosa, which got a late start).

This is my first year growing dwarfs and it’s been interesting so far. I have a half dozen in the garden and a couple in a big pot on the deck. Yesterday I commenced the pruning and training of the other plants but the dwarfs looked just fine on their own. I honestly don’t know what to do with them. Leave them alone? Tie to a stake but don’t prune? Tie and prune? Pull up a chair and have a tea party? I’m open to any of those options.

@DriftlessRoots , I normally tie to a single stake however I found that with the really stocky dwarfs that that doesn't work that well. If one pulls the stems in too far they will crack. Last year I was able to get some small cages, about 2.5 feet tall with 3 rings and they worked much better. It does depend upon the variety as some dwarfs are stockier and more self supporting than others. I will be on the lookout for more of those cages this year.

@OhioGardener Debbie, have you ever planted a Premus start mid season or later?
