There are some new varieties available this year. All seeds can produce tomatoes that are 2+ pounds. Some of the seeds are grown from champion lines.

Yak54 was kind enough to send in seeds of his monster ‘King Kong’ tomato grown in 2022 and everyone that would like some may have them. Everyone requesting seed from this offer will be getting some King Kong as well.

All other seed is limited to those participating in the 2023 Giant Tomato Contest since it is purchased seed for this year’s competition and there is not enough seed to go around for everyone on the forum.

To be eligible for seed you must be a Tomato Junction member in good standing for a minimum of two weeks and have introduced yourself as well as made five posts on the main board.

You may request up to 4 varieties. You will be given King Kong as a bonus courtesy of Yak54 (Thank you Yak54). Seeds are first come first serve so please include 2 alternatives in the event there are not enough of a variety to go around.

Everyone is to grow out a minimum of one variety of seed that they ask for, weigh and post pictures of their grow out. It’s fun to watch these big guys grow and we all enjoy watching. So, share the joy, your growing methods and pics.

If you requested seed last year and did not grow any of them out or participate in the contest, then please do not ask for more. It is costly and not fair to the other participants, but we will be more than happy to have you participate in this year’s contest growing what you already have, just post us some pics in the competition thread. You are also welcome to participate in the competition using your own seeds.

To make your request PM me your choices and confirm that you will be documenting your grow out with pics and a final weight of your mater(s).

I know. It's just that in 1983 a newspaper in Brasil fell for it and printed the news, complete with an explanation of the "science".
