Pink Berkeley Tie Dye?

When it first came out, I read it was a variant of BTD, but not selected by Brad Gates, rather by someone who grew BTD and got that pink version. Now I read that he selected it.

I guess I'll say that it's my favorite that started from his breeding.

I agree with Tormato- love PBTD. I also have had wonderful luck with Large Barred Boar. In fact, it made my grow list again for this coming season!

If PBTD didn't go soft so quickly I would grow it every year. One of my favourites for flavour so far.

The problem with tomatoes of colour like that is, if you try to give the extras to the neighbours, they might think you're tying to poison them.

Hands down Solar Flare. Fantastic flavor and gorgeous.
Decently productive for me, more so than PBTD.
Have grown quite a few of his tomatoes over the years but I always grow Solar Flare.

Brad's Black Heart. I can't imagine tomatoes in my garden without this tomato.

Has anyone grown Beauty King? Seeds n Such accidentally sent me someone else’s seed order and in spite of three reminders never sent a return shipping label, so I still have them. One of the varieties is Beauty King. The description sounds very intriguing, but I have such limited space (growing 11 plants this year, and that’s really pushing it) that I’m trying to decide whether it’s a good option.

I don't have a favorite yet - hopefully I will if any survive this year. I'm going to get a few Wild Boar Farms types started soon, maybe Blood Moon or Berkeley Tie Dye Heart.
Just watched a good youtube video of Mr Gates with his seed starts about
" Tomato Seed Questions and Answers Wild Boar Farms "
sorry I couldn't get a link to work.

It's taking some time to plow through my email today-
If you're not already signed up, I wanted to mention a newsletter came from Wild Boar Farms with a code for 15 % off seeds this week.
Their contest to name new tomato varieties sounds fun , a creative genius from TJ might win a 50 gift certificate. You could talk to your tomatoes and see what they think for suggestions ...

You need to try Large Barred Boar. It is a smaller semi det that can be happy in a cage. Larger to large tomatoes, wonderful flavor, AND short season enough to produce even when planted a bit late here ins southeast Wyoming at over 6,000 ft altitude. I would describe it as a melt in your mouth tomato.

Barry's Crazy Cherry is my favorite so far. I am planning to try Sweet Tooth this year so maybe that will end up as a favorite.

Those little nipply fruits were the favorite of every single person in my family. The plants just fell so hard to the septoria that I had to give up growing it.
