My greenhouse has arrived, delivered about 8:45 pm tonight, a quick swap onto my trailer and then throw a tarp over for the night

@Whwoz "27 boxes, will have a resort tomorrow"

Looks like it's going to be a big 'un.

FWIW, yer tomorrow's in the On Deck circle...from where The Gotch is sittin', leastways.

@Cornelius_Gotchberg , a decent size it is, 5 X 12 meters, barn doors at both ends so I can have through breeze while no walking furballs can enter, plenty of roof vents as well, both manual and automatic.

@Whwoz That sounds wonderful! Can't wait to see it up. Are you putting it together yourself, or hiring to have it done?

Oh my! You have quite the project on your hands. I sure hope the instructions are there and not written in "foreign" English. Congratulations, you now have the Toy of All Toys! Can't wait to see it up.

I'll notify the county tax collector about the new structure on your property.

We helped neighbors with their 10 x 20.We did grade the slab for cleaning/ hosing. We ran electrical waterfroof conduit in slab and some water pvc at desired places. We reinforced the roofing for waterproof lighting and possible hanging plants. Now in the evenings us guys have a place to hide at the planting surfaces that also makes for a quick garden bar.All was well till the women folk found us out.

A friend actually had to go before the county tax board and protest the tax they put on her new greenhouse, which she successfully did. They had used Google earth and thought it was a barn.

Totally lame if you ask me.
They could tax a dog house from Google Earth.

How exciting! I always wanted a greenhouse. I am hoping we can get one when we move to Jordan. I have my own boxes that arrived yesterday, but it is a bunk bed house thing and not as exciting to everyone else as a greenhouse. 😂

To give you folks a better look of how they pack 'em down under,,
Full greenhouse.jpg
Just pulled the tarp off the trailer to have a good look and resort the boxes into groups of materials. Plus I put some plastic pallets on floor of trailer to prevent boxes getting wet when it rains
End panels.jpg
end polycarb, 10mm or 0.4 inch thick.jpg
The end profile pieces of twin wall poly carbonate, think square profile cardboard and you will have a fair idea of what it is.

One of the advantage of purchasing the greenhouse at Farm World rather than just rocking up to the shop to buy is the good bits they throw in as 'Show Specials', a very much needed shade system, misting kit, self watering pots, beds etc.

Raised beds x3.jpg
The greenhouse itself is an extended 5 x 4 m, meaning the base greenhouse is 5 m wide x 4 m long with 4 x 2 m extension kits added to it. This means that if I wanted to extend or even shorten ?!! (just kidding ) it sometime down the track I could
Greenhouse frames.jpg

And the supports for the shade come in 2 m kits

Concreter has been organised to come out and measure a slab for it too.

The twin wall polycarbonate is great stuff. I have a few pieces we got as samples, and they are really durable with the plus of having insulative value you don't get in a single sheet.
Hope every piece of stuff is intact and perfect as required when it comes time to put it up, Whwoz. I mean, nothing missing or broken!

I bet you can find lots of good uses for all that cardboard when the time comes, too. :)

Work has started on the preparation for the construction of the new greenhouse at the Garden of Woz. First up , excavate the pad site.
IMG_20230518_152823.jpg
All laser levelled

Next was to do the drain/footpaths that will serve as access off the south deck, down 3 steps, along one short pathway, turn right onto long pathway and into greenhouse

Boards in background are veggie bed
IMG_20230518_152834.jpg
Short pathway enters about half way to the machine on left, on right is veggie bed

.

A better look at machine, operator has done an excellent job so far.

Ok, not quite sure what is going on, but on phone, short pathway is showing up last as an attachment rather than embedded
