Agway has peanut plants for sale, but I don't have the proper soil for those.
My uncle grew them 1 year back in the 1960's
some variety that took 180 days
That is really pushing it in this growing zone.
I may buy a plant to experiment with indoors.

I planted spanish peanuts. I understand they are more like 110-120 days. Urban farmer seeds has them at 110 days. Reimer seeds says 120. I direct seeded mine in the soil May 1st and May 2nd in two different beds. One bed had potatoes and fava beans the day before, the other garlic and onions. I expect to be harvesting peanuts around September 1st.

Peanut seeds are such a rip off from many of the major online seed suppliers. Over $20/#, what a disgrace!

I once had a chinese friend that would buy the unroasted raw seeds to cook in a wok.
I requested some to try to sprout but she never supplied any.

I started mine with store bought raw Spanish peanuts last year and they did fine.
The ones I left in the ground sprouted this year.

I got my raw Spanish peanuts in the shell at Reifel’s for $2.79/#. I got not even a pound and ate a bunch and planted maybe 50 seeds.
