somewhere I read to wait five weeks after scapes appear - then harvest

quite happy with these, although if I hadn't used the five week marker I would have waited for more yellow leaves ......

hmm, pic has flipped .... click on it for better perspective

Sounds good. When we have an off year for pears, I make sure to use them for syrup first, then sauce.

Do you notice much difference among the three types?

well, they grow pretty much the same ....... Creme de la Rasa is new to me this year ...... described as "taste of the finest of Rocamboles; not a scorcher, but a heart and palate melter"

I've grown Georgian Fire for many years ...... hot and powerful and a good keeper; nothing specific comes to mind with the Northern Quebec Porcelain

I did try a garlic pesto with the scapes ........ not great, way too hot/powerful for my taste ....... wish I would have let the scapes grow - like to save/trade the bulbils, but none this year
