There are lots of runners to harvest off of the seascape strawberries bed I started, as well as from potted plants. I want to do a tower or four this year or next. Anyone have a particularly good design? I have scrounged some PVC but haven't cut any holes yet.

Are you planting in pro mix, or is this hydroponics? The plant site is the hard part. The plants stick out at a 45 degree angle. I've seen solo cups used. You can make anything with pvc fittings, but it gets expensive. You might also look at 5" vinyl post covers. They come in 8' sections, virtually indestructible.

Please show us your final design... I might try something like this for summer lettuce. Just thinking it would be hard for a vole to climb. Or if they actually did climb it, well it would be a great video eh? Vole cam.

More like pro mix/compost mix I guess, is what i was thinking. Top water with a tube, but I haven't figured the tube design yet. A tube you can top fill but will distribute water equally to each level. Solo cups or net cups is what I was thinking might be needed. Cut the bottom off a solo cup and stick it right in? 45 degree, got it, so the holes would be elliptical instead of round? Or rather round, cut at a 45 angle using a jig, I guess.

I have seen some elaborate bending/cupping of pvc itself but I don't know how it ever be emptied out to restart the next year. Whereas a tube with holes should be easy.

The pvc I already have, 6", some thick wall some thin.
