A little late but Home Depot is getting rid of Klein tools.
They're going to Lowe's.
In doing so they put a pile of discounts up.
Shelves picked clean.
I went it to get a cheap caulk gun and decided to take a look.
What I wanted to buy was some more offset wire cutting dikes but they weren't discounted.
Figures.
I did buy a tamper proof bit screwdriver set for about 9 dollars off.
Something I actually use a lot.

Of all the union electricians I know Klein was the tool of choice.I witnessed them with a sidecutter, straight, philips, hacksaw .pipe, wire, trim whole multistory buildings.Oh and the rolls of black tape.

I've used Ideal tools as well.
I can't count how many Klein Phillips head screwdrivers I've worn out.
I don't even buy them anymore.
It's like you spend 10 dollars or whatever on a screwdriver and it's trashed in less than a year.
The head gets so worn down it won't hold.
I've gone to something else that I can easily replace the tip with out proprietary stuff to buy.

One of the problems with the Milwaukee multi bit screwdriver.
You can't do it.
I read that HD is going Milwaukee but not for sure.
I do know some of their stuff is over priced.
Unlike some of y'all that only see a tool on rare occasions around the house these darn things in one form or another have been part of my everyday life all of my life.
Even as far back as preschool.
I had a toy tool set with real metal.

My mom said I sawed my way out of my baby cage.

I've pretty much stopped using a screwdriver all the time and use this thing.
But that should be another thread.

Since the big Klein migration you can't seem to find a lot of stuff.
Home Depot is getting rid of Klein and Lowe's is stocking up.
It's really a temporary boon for Klein.
I was needing some wire fishing rods and nobody has them.. Lowe's on order and Home Depot out.
Other places can't get them on backorder.
So I decided to make a recon and see what I could find at a Home Depot on Howard Lane and 35 north of Austin.
Can't find the electrical department.
But I passed by a pile of stuff of which all manner of things were sitting on an end cap.
Low and behold there they were my rods I was looking for.
Not on the computer.
I just bought the things with my own money and will get paid back by the company.
77 dollars worth.
