The Camellias Are Blooming
The sasanqua camellias are blooming, right on time. This is Leslie Ann. I love how the petals fall and make it look like snow all around it.
And this is one of my favorites, Stephanie Golden. She's just getting started but that plant is loaded with buds all over so it will be spectacular when it gets going. Thank goodness she held off until this frost business passed!
I cut the first two broccoli heads yesterday and I was sorry to do that. They were each only about 3" wide but starting to loosen up so they had to be cut. This darned weather is seesawing between hot and cold and that's never good for the brassicas. If the broccoli is misbehaving, the cauliflower will probably act up too. By next Wednesday and Thursday we'll have a high of 80 again. But that's the way it goes. You never know what each gardening season will bring. As we used to say on the softball team, "You win some and lose some but you dress out for all of 'em."
