National Seed Swap Day - January 27th

National Seed Swap Day is celebrated on the last Saturday in January, which is January 27 this year, to honor the great U.S. tradition of swapping seeds with neighbors. The final week of January lays the chilly winds of winter to rest and signals the coming of spring — a season of cherry blossoms, outdoor picnics, and fresh plantations. As the plants and trees shed their final bounty, communities gather to plan for the next year of harvest. Mark this brand new season by swapping seeds and sharing warmth with your community on National Seed Swap Day.

So post your swaps and trade away!

Your onions look great. Very snuggly under their snow blanket

That was 2023 crop Garlic; funniest thing three days before that, it was a balmy 80°+ F/26.7°+ C and I was sipping Barley Pop out on the deck.

I positively LUV onions, but have never grown them successfully.

i will be missing out on this one.
currently out of town in florida. not a vacation trip, but won't talk about it here.

gotch, i tried giving you some catawissa walking onions when you paid a visit.
ANYBODY will be able to grow them. they just have to make contact with the ground.
i found them alive and healthy after two years being away from the farm with no care what so ever.
i think you would like them.

@rxkeith We raised Walking Onions a while back, got 'em from farm client up in Saxon, WI on the north side of U.S. 2.

Too much work taking up too much space for too little yield. We switched to Garlic ~ 15 years ago and never looked back.

Have sent out four (4) gift packs (one before the 1st of the year, some of which that recipient has already planted!), and three (3) more (one [1] international last Friday, two [2] on Wednesday) which should be delivered today or tomorrow.
