New Guava Root-knot Nematode!

This was on the SC Extension gardening show that I watch on Saturday mornings. There's a new nematode that has been found in four southeastern states. According to the article, in the past several years it has spread across Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Puerto Rico, and is presently being monitored in Louisiana and Georgia. It is the guava root-knot nematode. This one targets sweet potatoes, other root vegetables but also affects tomatoes and others. Just what we need... another nematode.

Damn, from the name I was hoping it only killed Guava. Was gonna have you mail me some! Sounds like a nasty little critter
