I guess I'm a Broadway show fan now
So before I met my wife I didn't think I liked musical theater. But it turns out I love it. My first introduction was a local theater production of Cabaret. Loved it! Then a traveling production of Hamilton. Fantastic! Then just yesterday we went to my wife's favorite show, Les Miserables. OMG so good! Almost brought me to tears multiple times. My wife was prepared and brought Kleenex.
Now I'll always be on the lookout for shows near me. Somewhat surprising to me was how good the local production was. A lot of talented people in local shows!

Last live performance musical theater we saw was “Beauty and The Beast” a couple of years ago at our local theater. We knew the family of one of the performers, it was a fun evening. Before that one was “Hairspray” also at our local theater. I’ve been to a Broadway show once, “Wicked” and that was super fun.
I was in choir in high school and each year we did a big musical production. “Fiddler on the Roof” , “Oklahoma”, “The Music Man” and “Irene”. We had an awesome choir director that put a lot of culture into us whether we liked it or not. One of my choir classmates went on to have a career as a tenor on Broadway.

I saw a play in France about Joan of Arc.
No idea were I was at but it was outside at night.

Re: I guess I'm a Broadway show fan now
I've only seen one Broadway-style musical in person in my life, a show called "Carmelina," which pretty much no one has ever heard of. It came to the Kennedy Center in DC in 1979 for a two-week tryout run as they desperately tried to fix it before it headed to Broadway. I loved it, but I was just a teenager at the time and had never seen any other musicals so you can guess how much that opinion was worth. The show hit Broadway and closed in two weeks, sinking like a stone. Interestingly, some really big names were involved in that show, including Alan Jay Lerner and Jose Ferrer.
The only other contribution I have on this topic is that I love the "Bad Lip Reading" version of "Hamilton." Not sure if it's more enjoyable if you have or have not already seen "Hamilton."
