The other day I started the peppers:

Ancho
Mucho Nacho jalapeno
TAM II Mild jalapeno
Lipstick - new to me. Early (55 days), triangular 2x3.5" peppers.
Margaret's
Orange Sun Bell - new to me; from last year's MMMM seed package
Ozark Sweet Snack - new to me. Supposedly long, thick-walled red peppers
Super Shepherd
Tangerine Dream
Truhart-NR (a pimento with nematode resistance)

Yesterday I got the tomato cups labeled, filled with Happy Frog potting soil and wet down so that they can hydrate well overnight. Tomato seed will be started today.

Since I posted I've started Beaver Dam that came in this year's MMMM.

And I've decided to go ahead and test three batches of Maule's Red Hot (a big, long cayenne-type) seed in my freezer "vault). One's the original seed 2015 seed from Shumway, one was collected in 2016 and the last was collected in 2020. I have a note on the '15 and '16 batches that I did a germination test on both in Dec '20 and 4 of 5 germinated in both batches.

If they come up I will plant one of each and offer some for the next MMMM. I dry mine and whiz them up into powder. Haven't done any since 2020 and I;'m about out of the powder that's been staying fresh in the freezer. LOL!

Just for grins and giggles, here's the description I found online back when I first bought it. Knowing me, it's probably a combo of info from several descriptions I found.

Maule's Red Hot Pepper
Also known as the Lady Finger pepper. Scoville units: 15,000 to 50,000 SHU. This high yielding variety is very productive bearing dozens of peppers even in short season climates. Glossy red, 10 to 12 inch Cayenne type fruits, and of similar heat. Originally introduced by William Maule Seed Company of Philadelphia in 1912. Plants get to around 3 feet tall but can get bigger in full sun light.
