16 hours after an 82°F/27.7°C afternoon of Beer Drinkin' & Deck Sittin', yours truly narrowly escaped becoming Shish KaGotch.

It's a good thing that you weren't napping after those beers. It's nothing that a little duct tape won't fix Red Greene.

Yeah I had a tree limb come down and destroy my wood smoke box during the ice storm.
Good thing you weren't sitting there.

You can't argue with a closed mind.
You might as well be arguing with a cat.

That would definitely leave a scratch. Might have to do some lawn furniture shopping.

I had a limb once like that fall about a minute after I moved from the spot. Would have been bad for me.

Must be the week for falling limbs. Massive tree sized live oak limb fell from 40 feet about 8am Tuesday morning and destroyed our electric meter/box/support structure. Had 36 hours no electricity, but back in business as of eight pm last night. Limb was live and green and no wind to knock it down. Just one of those things.

Squirrels did it. Group effort.

(Glad no one was hurt.)

Tree limb is all cut up and a new support and service installed.

$2,800 later, not counting the tree work.

Actually, I was...indoors.

And while I'm Duck-It kinda guy, that...um...repair would adhere to whatever part of my back it contacted...and...er...holding fast during those numerous Get_Up_And_GO trips to the loo and the fridge

That baby's scheduled for Large Item Pickup this coming Monday.

Wow.. Tx for putting me on notice, I was out all day clearing brush and small trees, windfalls, etc. with pretty gusty conditions, and didn't think much about the chance of something coming down.
I still have a pile of boughs and some logs to move, from the tree I had cut for me just after Christmas, dangling windshook at the corner of the house. Tragedy averted but it snowed before I could clear up.

@bower and you's get mucho más more wind than we do.

That there limb came down from a magnificent Oak which, like many in our neighborhood, were Twenty Somethings during the Civil War.

Damned near took out Kermit, his Turtle pals (lower/center right), AND our elevated Space Hybrid Spinach bed.
