Cartoons (or other good stuff) you grew up with.

Lets have some fun and talk about what you grew up watching. Mostly I wanted this to be about cartoons but no matter if there's a none cartoon show you want to talk about.
Whether it was your favorite Saturday morning program, after school program or favorite Disney movie, let's reminisce. :D

(If you still watch cartoons, (especially your good old 90's and earlier stuff) don't you dare feel embarrassed; tons of adults still do because sometimes there's nothing else better on.)

I'll start the ball rolling. I was born mid-90's and before converter boxes, way before streaming was invented and VHS tapes were still in circulation. My grandmother had to to adjust her antenna from its box so that i could enjoy my cartoons/programs without snow on the screen. :D
I grew up in the middle of nowhere, had no friends, was raised by two hermits and was homeschooled, so believe me I had lots of time for TV and movies.

My very early days included:

Dragontales
Blues Clues (I stopped watching when it changed to Blues Room)
Winnie the Pooh
Telletubbies
Bob the Builder
Jay Jay the Jet plane
Maggie and the Ferocious Beast
Little Bill
Franklin
Little Bear
Bear in the Big Blue House (not a cartoon)
Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood (not a cartoon)
Zoboomafoo (not a cartoon)
LazyTown (not a cartoon)
Kipper
The Backyardigans
Dora the Explorer
Go Diego Go
Angelina Ballerina
Clifford the Big Red Dog
Cliffords Puppy Days
Barney
My Little Pony (G3)
Sesame Street (not a cartoon)

(Later on)

The Charlie Brown and Snoopy show (still watch on occasion)
Scooby Doo (still watch because it's very dear to my heart but choosy on modern ones after Casey Kasem, the voice actor of Shaggy, passed away.)
Looney Tunes (still watch but not the modern ones)
Horseland
House of Mouse
Yogi Bear
Tom and Jerry (still watch)
The Rescuers Down Under
Strawberry Shortcake (2003 version)
Land Before Time movie series (1-3 and 5-11.)
The Flintstones (still watch)
The Jetsons (still watch)
Garfield and Friends
Kim Possible
Inspector Gadget (the 80's show)
Spider Riders
Animal Crackers
Dino Squad
Scooby-Doos Laugh A Limpics
The Replacements
The Emperor's New School
Power Rangers S.P.D (not a cartoon. had a crush on one guy in there)
Power Rangers (not a cartoon. The first version. Had a crush on the Blue Ranger)
The Pink Panther
The Smurfs
The 3 Stooges Cartoon (still have but rarely watch)
Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck/Goofy shorts
Cake TV (not a cartoon)
Hannah Montana (not a cartoon)
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (not a cartoon)
That's So Raven (not a cartoon)
Captain Caveman
Beetle Bailey

(Good old 80's shows I was introduced to after the start of the Covid)

Transformers G1 (still watch)
Jonny Quest
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe G1 (still watch)
She-Ra G1
The Original Ghostbusters (still watch)
Goof Troop
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers

These are cartoon Disney movies I saw growing up. I still own several on DVD. I don't do streaming. I don't do digital movies.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
Lion King (still watch. One of top favorites)
Lion King 2
The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid 2

The Emperor's New Groove (still watch on rare occasion)
Kronks New Groove (still watch on occasion)
Toy Story (still watch a million times. One of top favorites)
Toy Story 2 (still watch a million times. One of top favorites)
Toy Story 3 (still watch on rare occasion)
Toy Story 4 (still watch on rare occasion)
Brother Bear (still watch)
Brother Bear 2 (still watch)
Godzilla cartoon series
A Goofy Movie (still watch)
An Extremely Goofy Movie (still watch on rare occasion)
Mulan (still watch)
Mulan 2 (still watch on rare occasion)
Cars 2 (still have. Rarely watch)
Cars 3 (still have. Rarely watch)
Planes (still have. Rarely watch)
Planes 2 Fire and Rescue (still have. Rarely watch)
(my mom likes the Cars and Planes more than I do. )

I'm pretty sure there were others that I may not remember. Not everything I watched was something I watched repeatedly. Some movies I listed I may have only seen like once or twice. I'll update this post if I think of anything else. My criteria was not restricted to cartoons, there was a ton of comedy sitcoms like I Love Lucy and The Real McCoys and sci-fi that I also was raised on and still watch. Like I said, I was raised by hermits so we spent a great deal of time watching TV.

Many of the cartoons I watched are banned now.
You can find them on YouTube.
I also had to go feed cows in the morning in Missouri in the winter.
No matter the weather.
But I did manage to watch...
Scooby.
Land of the lost.
HR Puff and Stuff.
Johnny Quest.
Loved the Smurfs as an adult.
Wacky races.
Flintstones.
The Jetsons.
Sigmond the sea monster.
And so on.

Ah, Saturday morning cartoons. After those were done we kids would clear the house or risk hearing, "If you don't go outside and find something to do, I'll find something for you!"

Rocky and Bullwinkle (also on early weekday mornings just before I had to leave for school)
Mighty Mouse
Loony Tunes/Merry Melodies - these old cartoons were kind of works of art with lots of detail, lots of color and fluid motion. On a closet shelf the Dutch lady on the Dutch cleanser label would wave to another character on a different can label. They'd do takeoffs of real places like a Coca Cabana under the sea with various sea creatures coming and going. Also some classical music riffs here and there in appropriate places. As time wore on cartoons changed to rather flat drab artwork and herky jerky motion, the result of cost cutting and drawing fewer cels to create the cartoons. That's when I quit watching them. Never got into Huckleberry Hound, Speed Racer and similar.

I grew to love Rocky and Bullwinkle even more as I got older and realized how many double meanings were hidden in a lot of their lines! Clever writers. :)

Also watched:
Three Stooges
Roadrunner
Flintstones
Disney (on Sunday evenings when it was all cartoons)
Jackie Gleason Show
Red Skelton Show

I totally forgot to include The Smurfs. My mom likes those better than I do, I got sick of every other word the characters used for a verb, adjective or adverb was "smurf". A little too lame for me but I'll always love the parts where Brainy is tossed.
I also forgot to include Jonny Quest. My favorite Jonny Quest was the full length movie called Johnnys Golden Quest. It had way more emotion and story than the series and still had the same voice actor for his father.

@MissS With the exception of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Bozos Circus you literally named a lot of comedy shows that I grew up with and still watch. ❤

Here's the comedy sitcoms that I still watch or own on DVD:

The Andy Griffith Show
The Real McCoys (had a crush on Pepino)
The *Bleep* Van Dyke Show
McHales Navy
Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. (BOY did I ever crush on Duke Slater, oh my goodness!!)
Gilligans Island
The Patty Duke Show
Father Knows Best
Car 54 Where Are You?
I Love Lucy
The Lucy Show
Mr. Ed
The Brady Bunch
The Three Stooges (not the cartoon)

I recently purchased a set of I Dream of Jeannie I found in Goodwill but never got into the show, actually.

Sci-Fi or other:

Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Lost in Space
Star Trek the original series
The Twilight Zone (Living Doll is my #1 favorite episode)

Westerns:

Gunsmoke
Bonanza
Rawhide (I had a BAD crush on Rowdy Yates but totally ditched him for Gil Favor. )
The Rifleman

There’s not a person alive, in my experience, that identifies as an XX, female, woman, etc. that has ever liked the three stooges.

What idiots would ban old cartoons when there's a ton of modern stuff that needs banning? (I guess you'd better not answer that if it would be considered controversial)

One new show I wish could be banned (or edited) is Bluey. Its an Australian made mini series for Disney about a family of blue-heeler dogs. It's targeted for a very young audience, toddlers mainly, and it approaches touchy subjects. While that's not the problem, there was a great deal of not-family- friendly/inappropriate and ill-mannered content that young audiences did not need to see or hear. A lot of the inappropriate stuff was edited by Disney, thank goodness. One episode was highly inappropriate, showing 2 things that would highly confuse little children and give them a very bad impression.
Another issue that upsets me is that Bluey is supposed to be for toddlers but there's a ton of adults that watch it for themselves. While I'm not against grown people watching cartoons, there's something weird about any that watches one targeted toddlers- 5 or 6 year olds just to themselves. Heck yeah, I watched Jay Jay the Jet Plane, but I could literally never watch that now, even for the sake of nostalgia, without wanting to crawl under a rock and say, oh I can't believe I watched that lame show when I was 3 or 4. Oh well. To each their own.

Another show I failed to mention above was LazyTown. It wasn't a cartoon but featured a fake looking cartoon-style town, 3 real people (Exercise buff and hero Sportagus, a pink haired singer and dancer girl Stephanie, and Robbie Rotten the villain) and the rest were puppets. It was targeted for a young audience (less than 10 or 9 maybe) I came across an episode on You Tube and watched only because I'd forgotten what a hot hunk of stunt jumper Sportagus was. He was probably one of my first little crushes but watching it again at my age I was like, boy that was lame.

Well, I'm a woman and I like them! :D Humor means a lot to me and humor back then was WAY better than it is now.
Some of my favorite quotes:

Random Stooge: *poink*

Moe: I wonder if we're near the place?
Curly: Well seeing as how there's no other place around the place, I reckon this must be the place I reckon.

What were you doing in Paris?
Looking over the Para-sites.

Curly: I resemble that remark!

Larry: *sees a man's toupee stuck on his violin bow* A tarantula!!
