I've heard about trying to resurrect the tasmanian tiger. I say, if an animal goes extinct it was either meant to be or no big loss; I've heard new animal species are popping up. Out with the old and in with the new, even in the animal kingdom. It's obvious the dinosaurs weren't meant to survive forever. (If they were, can you imagine trying to keep a T-Rex from coming in your yard, that's a mighty tall and high voltage electric fence you'd be paying for) However, of they're truly successful in bringing back the mammoth, I'll be on the edge of my seat in awe if I happens.

I wanted to give a reply to above poster about extinction but never got around to it.
In my opinion nothing on this planet was meant to be.
Or no big loss.
Mankind has sent many animals to extinction and to me it was a big loss.
The T Rex etal never had a chance when that giant comet or meteor hit the earth in the Gulf of Mexico.
The K2 boundary tells it all.
No big lizards roaming the planet afterwards.
Meant to be means we don't have free will.
Everything is already written in stone.
I don't believe this.
Out of our control for the latter and what
were they thinking for the former.
The killing off of large animals is a direct result of our actions be it on purpose or by ignorance.
Oddly enough the movie planet of the apes shows the gorillas to be the dumb ignorant militaristic of the great apes.
The chimpanzees to be the lesser and more Republican.
In fact the gorilla is the most docile of the two.
In the video the woman that got sucked into the cage said the chimpanzee wouldn't look at her after the event.
That shows the chimpanzees have the ability for guilt.
What else is going through their minds we can't reach or know about.
I've always toyed with the idea given a few million years the chimpanzees would evolve into something more human.
That's a very long time and I highly doubt that day will ever come.
6 million years science says it took humans to evolve to what we are now.
Imagine from today every human holding hands way back to 6 million years ago.
Each person being slightly different as we go back in time to what we came from.
You wouldn't recognize your direct ancestor of that long ago.
In fact people say we evolved from apes like the chimpanzees.
That's not true.
What we evolved from doesn't exist anymore other than ourselves.
But I do feel the great apes are a reflection of our past in some way.
What caused them to get the short end of the stick and evolve into what they are today.
Most certainly they weren't the same animal they were 6 million years ago.
Or could they be.
If so what triggered our ape like ancestors to evolve into us?
