Happy Halloween everyone.
Not for sure what I'll do and might take tomorrow off.
Maybe a good movie or something but not really a horror movie.
Maybe something really disturbing and tragic.
Something like the move Of Mice and Men.
Now that's a disturbing movie and story if there ever was one.
The story was written by John Steinbeck who brought you such great stories like Tortilla flat and the Grapes of wrath.

and right on schedule, the weather has turned to crap.
rain turned to sleet, sleet turned to snow. temps are in the mid 30s.
its a hardy lot of kids that go trick or treating here in the keweenaw.
they did have a trunk or treat i do believe a couple days ago. a buncha
people gather on the main street of calumet passing out candy from their
car trunks. the village closes off the street for a few hours, and the kids get
to have some fun, and games, and candy of course. we did not do anything
special. there are twelve familes on my road, no small kids, so no trick or
treaters. a 5 hour work shift turned into 7 and 1/2 hour shift. we have been
getting clobbered lately at work. rest and relax time now.

I ended up watching Death Proof.
One crazy movie for sure.
All quiet in the neighborhood.

Death Proof is a great movie.
Our halloween weather is always nasty, this one no exception, but the temperature did rise overnight after the treater hours.
I never get any treaters here. Stopped buying the candy years ago, since I only eat it myself.
Halloween is the day we drop below 10 hours of daylight, so winter for veggies until mid February. that is for those who won't grow without at least 10 hours. Too cold anyway. Summers end!

It takes a special person to enjoy Death Proof.
Kurt Russell really makes the movie.
If you don't like young women cussing don't even attempt to watch it.
Lots of places during the Austin part I recognize and have been there.
But that's the case with all movies made in parts of Texas.
Sadly these old movie back drops are quickly going away to make room for modern progress.
Bastrop always has something going on during the Halloween season especially for the kids.

We always have Trick or Treating on the Saturday prior to the 31st. The weather was good, the house all decorated and the kids and even many parents were dressed to the hilt. It's a good thing because Halloween here was cold and blistery. The winds blew all of the decorations down. Skellies fell over and broke their necks. Lots of repairs to be doing.
I didn't have much to do or watch, the winds took out the internet, tv and phone.

@worth1 In your opinion what would be the best outdoor glue to repair the plastic skelly hands and heads back to the bodies?

I have no idea.
They make a lot of good glued nowadays.
My cousin Google would probably have a better answer than me.
I just know that TiteBond lll is the best for outdoor wood including wooden boats.

Kurt Russell's predator is deeply disturbing and the first part of the movie is brutal. I don't think any woman could watch it without cussin herself. It's a very dark setup for what follows. TBH there was no inappropriate cussin on the part of the young women who survived his attacks in the second part, IMO, and if there was it was drowned out by audience cussin - and cheers.
It didn't surprise me that the women who bested this brute were film crew workers. They were obviously used to handling whatever comes up, classic crew personalities. He really met his match.

The blonde Zoey Bell is a real stunt woman and did her own stunts and played herself.
The song at the end of the movie is called Chick Habit and is sang by April March.
I've driven both of the cars in the second half of the movie.
The speeds shown on the speedometer doesn't compare to the speeds you'd actually be going given the time of accelerations depicted in the movie.
In other words you're going to be going around 150 mph or more not 75 or 80 you would have left that behind long ago.
The E body Challenger will run circles around the B body Charger.
The Dodge Dart Swinger will take both of them out if its set up right.
