Hello, does anyone have any variegated varieties of tomatoes where the foliage does not fade and tastes good? I heard that moonlight mile pink is a good variety but I was only able to find it on Croatian Seeds which doesn't ship to the US and an old etsy listing that has been sold out. Last year I grew Gandolf which was an ok tasting tomato but the variegation stopped. So if anyone has Moonlight mile pink or any other variegated tomatos from what I wrote about, if you could let me know that would be great!

Moonlight mile didn’t fade as bad for me but many times anything in full sun will have it occur. I grew 5 variegated tomatoes last year but in full long day sun they usually fade. I will check my stock and see what I can find.

I have grown both Moonlight Mile and the Moonlight Mile pink (pink is PL) both held the variegation true the season. In taste I preferred the pink.


Blues Bling had the most beautiful variegation I have ever seen and that held out all season. Good tomato also. It got an extra plus from me as it was big fruits on a dwarf plant.

Do you by chance have any spare seeds for either Moonlight mile pink (PL) or Blues Bling?

NOTE it is mentioned that variegation varies from plant to plant, age of plant and growing conditions. I read somewhere that to keep/increase the chance of variegation you should save seeds from a tomato on a highly variegated branch...
Gandalf had boldly variegated seedlings when I grew it and the variegation remained all growing season. It also produced loads of small heart shaped bi color tomatoes that we enjoyed the flavor on.
Brad Gates a variegated dwarf didn't show variegation in any of the seedlings or adult plants.
Shimofuri barely showed any variegation at all.

I have a number of other variegated varieties to grow but not I look for other features and consider the flashy leaves a bonus.

Next year, perhaps...

there will be a variegated category in the MMMM. There are participants asking for them, and being scattered throughout other categories does not make it easy looking for them. There are several tomato varieties, a few pepper varieties (including some not yet stable crosses), and I currently have one lettuce.
