Hi greetings from a newbie here from Canada

Hi, I am officially saying Hi in the right place now.. I came looking for info on Tomatoville which I had been on for many years and decided this was a good place to stay so after a few days I joined and I said hi in that topic.
So I am Jeannine Anne.. but please drop the Anne part.. Jeannine is just fine. From BC Canada with UK roots. I used to garden extensively on acreage but no more, just a lovely large glass greenhouse with thigh high raised beds all round, a lot of large pots outside and a three tier light setup inside so I am still gardening. I try to grow as much as 1 person can eat, it works with many things but not all of course but it is fun trying.
I recognize some names from TV here good to see you.
I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Jeannine, Nice to see you here. I recall your posts about perennial brassicas! The only one I've grown is purple tree collards, aka perennial kale. For a couple decades, more or less, I had a kale forest. In-between I moved and it took a few years to get it started again, then last year I let my winter squash take over the kale bed and lost all the kale. (Accidentally on purpose, actually -- I got tired of pulling harlequin bugs off the kale all summer!) Before that I gave away lots of cuttings, so I hope it is surviving in other gardens around town. Thankfully one of my cuttings thrived so I'm starting again.

Welcome Jeannine! I recognize you from TV where many of us are from.
My first tomatoes were Moneymaker and Alicante, and Mum used to send me the seeds from Woolworths when I first moved to Canada. It took me a while to figure out that there's a whole world full of better tasting tomatoes out there!

Oh yes I remember. you made me laugh with your kale story, it can get a bit like that. Mine is long gone as I had a bit of time off except for a few things.. but..... guess what I have been collecting this past winter and am sowing as we speak...perennial brassicas but I won't go on and on about them. You did really good though and still are..well done you XX Jeannine

Hi, now come on don't you be knocking Moneymakers to a Yorkshire lass. I learned about tomatoes with Moneymakers when I was a kid about 70 years ago .. who knows without Moneymakers I may not be here LOL. In fact I still sow one plant every so often in memory to my dad who taught me and yes the 2 seeds I sowed to get one plant have just popped..memories of me and my dad in his first greenhouse learning together are worth it. Whatever they taste like
