Has anyone heard of or grown a determinate hybrid called Red Snapper? If so, how did it do for you?

From Totally Tomatoes:

(VFFA) 70-75 days. Attractive, large-extra large fruits are deep red, weigh approx. 8 to 12 oz. and are smooth, firm and deeply oblate. Flesh is scarlet red and full of great tomato flavor. Medium tall plants have dark green foliage that provides moderate cover for fruit protection. Makes a great slicer. Sets well in the heat. Widely adaptable and a high yielder. Developed in cooperation with University of Florida's Food and Agricultural Science tomato breeding program. Intermediate resistance to Tomato Spotted Wilt and Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus. Determinate.

I have grown Red Snapper, purchased from Hoss tools. Did well for me in the heat and production but like many hybrids just didn’t stand up to the flavor of an heirloom for me.

I'd check out Lazy Dog farms (from South Georgia) on youtube. Supposedly a very productive determinate. Travis discusses Red Snapper below.

Haven't yet unfortunately. I planted one last Thursday and it's looking pretty vigorous and healthy so far. Hopefully I can let you know how it handles Mississippi heat and humidity in a couple of months, but determinates usually seem to do well here. My go to was Homestead, but in recent years I'm exploring heirloom indeterminates and hoping to find some that do well here since I don't do any canning.

@420Stainless, I've grown Homestead every year as it's been so reliable. For whatever reason it's not in the lineup this year. And I can't remember why! I might have to start one for mid summer/fall. Will look forward to your Red Snapper evaluation. :)
