My 1st one (after it having been in the fridge for ~eight ([8] days after purchase) was uninspiring. Despite the nice seedy Kiwi-esque texture and ease of spooning it out, it really lacked any actual "taste" at all.

The Indian Summer Tropical Passion Dragon Fruit Juice (https://www.cherrycentral.com/our-produ ... uit-juice/) I've tried is delicious.

What's the experience of others; might this one have been too old/too long in the fridge?

I think it's just a trendy thing people buy to be cool and exotic.
Do you feel cool and exotic yet?

No urge to try one after hearing from several people who all say the same...not much taste.

Many years ago our son wanted to taste the pitahaya, so I purchased one. I do not remember how it tasted, but it was not such which I would start buying regularly due the taste of it.
An other reason for us to buy it was getting the seeds. They germinated easily and I do still have couple as house plants.
I had one of the plants in the greenhouse one summer and it grew a lot there. I should try that again or maybe have these plants just outdoors during summer.

I found it rathr bland and not much taste, good or bad, in the fruit. At least the kumquats I tried were sort of awful, lol.

Kumquats are good finely minced up and mixed up in ice cream.
The rind is the best part.
I haven't seen them in stores for years and my tree froze out.
