I love Morning Glories too. Mine didn't do as well as I had hoped last year. Something chewed on them pretty bad, and I need to do some major soil amending. And some of them "strayed" from where they were supposed to be and decorated one of my little bushes!

I was noticing the eaten leaves and was going to ask about them before I read your post. It looks like slugs to me since it just appears on your lower leaves. If it is, I have had pretty good luck using DE.

Thanks ... I will try the DE. I wasn't really sure what it was. We just moved from Ohio to Alabama and last summer was our first year trying to grow anything down here. Never saw so many bugs in my life

I planted 4 hanging baskets. Two of them I'm going to train to grow into the rafters of an old shed, and the other two I'm training to grow into the lower branches of trees. This pot is going to grow into the lower branches of a crepe myrtle.

I chuckle every time I see Morning Glories. They are very pretty, but beauty only goes so far lol. In my vegetable garden, I am forever pulling Morning Glory seedlings. They're worse than weeds, and PROLIFIC! Constantly climbing the bean trellises and tomato cages. Shoot, they even climb the pepper plants themselves!

If I had a dollar for every MG I pulled....but I do enjoy them.

This one came with the house, it has climbed a big pine tree and mostly blooms about 20-30 feet up.

I use to have a fence FULL of "Heavenly Blue" morning glories, but the green iguana's that have invaded south FL also loved the leaves and flowers and destroyed the entire fence of flowers. I do have saved seeds for" Heavenly Blue" morning glories if anyone would like some. Just send me a SASE for the seeds.
