Sun Chocola & Thessaloniki

Sun Chocola is my first year growing this variety. HUGE production and quarter size fruit. Ripens to dark brown. Green gel inside. Full of flavor and lots of seeds. Grows like a weed!

Thessaloniki is my new "red" favorite. Full of old fashioned tomato flavor. More acidic than sweet, which I like. Various sizes and production is very good for my climate. Did have some leaf curl when the temps were colder. Never cracks or no catfacing. Smooth round golf ball size fruit.

I grew Sun Chocola last year and really liked them and produced lots of fruit. I did not grow them this year and kick myself for not doing it. Need to keep this on my list each year. Great taste.

I have seeds for SunChocolaF1 that date back 5 years. Just added it to my tentative 2021 grow list.

I am growing SunChocola for the first time this year. I got the seed from Osborne. I also got SunOrange (yum!). I like the flavor of the SunChocola, but my fruit are very crunchy and the skin is awfully tough. Is that normal? I thought I may be picking them too early, but I've let them sit a few days, too, with no change in crunchiness.

i am a huge Sun Chocola fan and have grown them every season since I first saw them being sold. I never found them crunchy at all and never noticed the skin while eating. If I can notice the skin when eating, I don't want it.

I let them get fully ripe before I pick them.
