Walking Iris blooming around the tiny pond in the backyard. Plus a fountain that no longer works, but I fill it up every day with fresh water and birds are very attracted to it, especially during hot weather.

SpookyShoe Your gardens are just lovely and so very relaxing to look at. I enjoy how you use a variety of plants rather than a mass planting everything. It is so very refreshing to the eye.

I spy St Francis there in your garden. I had one once and gifted it to a friend. Friend asked me if I had known that he had a particular devotion to that icon. I did not but found his predeliction for feeding wildlife in his yard a perfect fit for Francis. Lovely in a garden.

There's a Mexican sage by the birdbath, Salvia leucantha, which is just starting to put on some blooms. The hummingbirds, when they come through on the fall migration, go mad for it.

Salvia leucantha is going to bloom for you now? I am so jealous. I have to order a new plant every year and it finally starts to bud for me in August. Most years is starts to bloom just after the hummingbirds have left so I don't bother ordering it anymore. The last time that I grew it, the freeze came early and it didn't get a chance to bloom at all. Sure is a lovely one though.

Mexican Petunia (Ruellia), dwarf and regular sized, in bloom. If you can grow this, do so. It's a "trifecta" plant, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

It can be invasive if you let it.
