I love the flavor bomb cherry tomatoes that you can get at Sam’s Club most of the year except during the summer. What I like is the multiple separate cascading trusses where the tomatoes are all ripe at about the same time. Flavor is amazing. Has anyone ever had these tomatoes? If so have you ever seen seeds for a tomato like this? Or better yet have you grown one that has good flavor like this? I think they are grown in a greenhouse in Canada, but I’ve never been able to find out what the variety is. It’s marketed by Sunset. Here is a picture. . Thanks if you can help!

Why not collect seeds from the ones you eat ? There is a 95% chance that is a hybrid. But there is a 75% chance your F-2 plants will show no noticeable morph the first year. I collect from Hybrids all the time. Even the most unstable hybrids. But if you collect a second time, from a unstable hybrid. I can about guarantee you will get a surprise, as to what the fruit is like.

I just haven’t had good luck saving from hybrids. I don’t have a lot of room to grow them, so I can’t really afford surprises especially when I know the F-2 plants will probably not be any good. If I could just find out where “in the south of France” these come from!

Last year I got seeds from Pinetree Gardens for Cherry Bomb tomatoes, that were 1-1¼", with great flavor. Great keepers too, sitting on the counter over a week at times, after ripening. Only drawback was that they were prone to septoria, but almost every plant I had got it last season, due to constant rain through mid July. Huge output early on, and it grew back later on, when there was almost no rain at all. I'm growing them again, and hopefully, the rain will hold off! It was the second seed to pop up, and is the largest seedling of 22 varieties. I'm thinking that this is the same, or similar variety, since the term "Bomb" has a trademark sign next to it.

@wong-- I got the exact opposite problem. I got more room than I can manage. I generally do over 40 varieties a year.
PS-- you obviously know something I don't "I know the F-2 plants will probably not be any good". LOL

Johnny’s has “Edox.” It’s supposed to have those uniform trusses and be a greenhouse performer. I might try it next year.

@Labradors-- I think you nailed it. .. So those special seeds that has to come from southern France, is also grown in Michigan ?? By a greenhouse that majors in Heirloom seeds ? LOL. This is funny. I did like their site, they look professional. I figure it is the correct seed.. " Flavor Bombs" is a trademark name owned by Sunset farms in Michigan--kinda like Vidalia Onions. You can't grow a Vidalia unless you grow a sweet onion in a certain part of Georgia. Because they own the trademark, and judges that certify the onion's label. Several major supermarkets carry these ''special amazing'' cherry tomatoes, even Kroger. I do think they taste better than other supermarket cherries. But is that really saying anything ?

Before finding the Flavor Bombs, the best were the Campari saladette size on the vine. Really, really good. I think they were mostly at Costco.

Welcome to the Junction Worg. Flavor Bombs are my 'go to' winter tomato. I buy mine at Costco and I eat them like candy. I grab one or two every time that I walk by them. I always have 2 packages sitting on my counter. I used to buy the Campari tomatoes until this new kid arrived on the block. They are only available until about June which makes me sad because I don't get to eat a fresh tomato again until August when my own tomatoes start coming in. I did save seed this year and I am going to grow a plant and see what I get.

And to answer your question, no I do not know of another tomato like this one.

Not exactly like those, but one of my most favorites I grew last year were Sweet Aperitif, I called them my "tomato-flavored sugar bombs." Unfortunately, I relied on last year's seeds and none of them germinated this year I believe I got the seeds from Seeds 'n' Such.
