Newbie here from NE Florida (Jacksonville area)
Long time gardener still muddling along. I am adding some heirloom tomatoes now that I haven't tried before but wanted to give it a shot. We have a REALLY bad problem here with heat and humidity.
Trying Sioux, Purple Calabash and Atkinson (Auburn University heat resistant),this year.
The forum looks interesting. Hope it is more laid back than "the other place" was.

Thanks, and I see you are a fellow 9b'er. Probably fighting heat as much as I do myself.

Welcome to TomatoJunction!
I'd love to hear how Atkinson turns out for you. I've thought about growing that tomato a lot.

Purple Calabash is intriguing @T_om Purple Calabash seems to be a polarizing tomato variety.
One thing you might discover if you haven’t already about Tomato Junction is that many of us tend to share our tastes in tomatoes and other foods, but that we all most certainly do not have identical tastes in what is a tasty tomato…or pizza…or just about anything that may or may not be called food.
Actually, people sharing what they like or don’t like about tomatoes, the particular tomato varieties, is one of the more interesting and useful things happening on TJ.

Welcome Tom!
You southern growers are blazing the trail for all of us, as bouts of humid heat spread north and affect our tomatoes.
So TIA for sharing how different varieties and/or techniques work out for you.

Welcome Tom from central Texas! My oldest son and family live in the Florida panhandle. He battles......sand and squirrels
I can't even get into "the other place". Dunno what's up with that.
