The lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch, and the husband who adores her, hit our FAVE GO-TO nurseries (Jung's -n- Felly's on Nesbitt Road) on a picture perfect day.

Picked up April Cross Daikon Hybrid Radish seeds (500 should get me through the next coupla seasons, am I right...?), Mountain Merit & Mountain Magic Tomatoes, and Prizm Kale @Jung's, and Rutgers Devotion Basil, Astro Arugula, Fern Leaf Dill, Parris Island Romaine, and Lemon Boy Plus F1 Tomato @Felly's.

Planted the Romaine in with the Space Hybrid Spinach, and planted the Prizm along with Mrs. Gotch's Willy (St. Coop) West*** purchased Lacinato Kale.

***Stompin' Grounds of the inimitable @DriftlessRoots

Imagine my surprise when I looked in the front yard and saw the lovely Fern Peony (gifted by the divine @MissS ~49 weeks ago as we speak) had bloomed, with the most subtle sweet smell imaginable. The lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch, uber-sensitive to scents, paid it the ultimate compliment "Now THIS is a fragrance I would wear":

In a year or two she will fill in and be a real beauty. Mine looks like this these days.

Now THAT'S something to look forward to!

What's the going rate to secure a Garden Gnome to stand a post...?

Based on Gotch's recommendation I had 4 Mountain Magic seedlings earlier. Unfortunately all 4 croaked due to some fungus disease. :x

That SUCKS! Based on a wealth of experience, that li'l $#!t remains (IMO) one tasty Tomato.

After a poor showing 1st time through, I embraced the learned-n-trusted experience of @rxkeith and gave Uncle Steve's Italian (USI) a 2nd chance (viewtopic.php?p=107013&hilit=Uncle+Stev ... an#p107013).

That I don't regret, I'm raising more than one (1) USI this season, twice that of most varieties. Oddly enough, Mountain Magic's a two plant variety, as well; think you'll give it another go?

I'll probably try to grow a couple plants next year. I want to try 3-4 saladette varieties next year.
