Re: How's your weather?
Off and on rain today as pieces of TS Claudette come through. Most of TSC is moving through north Georgia. 1/2" rain yesterday here, another inch overnight and more today. That's fine with me! Mother Nature has watered in the field peas I planted yesterday.

Re: How's your weather?
The rain was coming down really hard about 45 minutes ago. I could also hear the wind, and I hope that it didn't do any damage. The radar shows it getting worse, before stopping.
It stopped fairly fast, and I got only .05" with that first storm front. Still more coming - a lot more, from what I see.
And I am hearing thunder now...

Re: How's your weather?
Looks like it rained more than last night, but not much - stopped at .21". Getting cooler, but humidity still way up. I hope the rain keeps light, like this, until after I harvest the garlic, though the weather usually does not cooperate!

Re: How's your weather?
As i suspected, another 'risk of frost' tonight. Clear skies, no wind, temperature inversion.
Days are hot though, full on summer weather into the high 70's, lots of sun and high UV.
Running a fan in the greenhouse, which seems to help. Not losing too many blossoms.

Re: How's your weather?
It's coming down HARD now! I only got .16" in earlier showers during the day, but a little bit ago I could hear the rain, so I went down to the basement, to shut the valve to the two watering pipes - easier than going out and setting the timers for dalays!
. It rained over .1" in just the time I was downstairs - just 2 to 3 minutes! It has more or less stopped, and I'm only up to .43", but more coming, looking at that radar. Temp only went down 5°, and it's supposed to drop more, with the later fronts. Up N, in Bensalem PA, where a cousin of mine lives, was in a tornado warning until a short time ago, as are some areas down in DE. I'm in between these, so it's not as bad here, but still bad! Unless you're looking for rain...

Normal, typical, showery, good okra growing weather.

47F all day today and constant fog and rain. Forecast is three of these in a row, highs if lucky 50 F or 52 for high rollers, lows in the 40's.
I've never seen tomato plants look so miserable as those poor things being rained on all day in the cold.
Had a break when it was down to heavy mist late afternoon, and I managed the emergency measures: tarp the hut.
If it doesn't get windy that should help with the next days. The ones with a roof are fine!

Re: How's your weather?
Southern Colorado finally received some precipitation, getting almost 2'' of rain as a system stalled over the area. May not be a lot for members in more humid areas, but represents about 15% of our annual total. Fortunately no hail, although a farming community about 15 miles east of us reported over 3-4" of rain with some hail measuring 2.85"...close to baseball size.

We go from 95 to 60 degrees in no time.
Drier than a popcorn fart to monsoon rains.
2 inches of rain on the gauge and counting.
Like Mark Twain used to say;if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.

Re: How's your weather?
It got a lot hotter here than is normal for this time of the year. I've never seen it so hot since moving to the island in '84. Today it is pleasant outside. Amazing what a drop of 20 degrees can do!
The heat dome has moved off to the east. Cold we can do but we are just not prepared for such extreme heat.
Going to have to take this in consideration when ordering new parts!

Growing Coastal it's been on the news here, your heat wave and then lightning strikes and devastating wildfires.
I'm so glad to hear that your local area has cooled off a bit!

I can't believe the unforseen effect of natural heat on the plastic fake wood.

Re: How's your weather?
95-100 degree for 3 days followed by temps in the 60s and 7 inches of rain in my digital rain gauge in the last 7 days. 4 days really, since the first 3 days were dry and 95+ degrees. 7 inches of rain in 4 days. Hope this isn't another summer of cool temps, rain and disease for the tomato plants. I need to get out there and spray them just in case, but I need a break in the rain first. Fingers crossed.
