Northern Pike is great but not too many people know how to de-bone properly....

The place we went fishing there wasn't anyone there it was so miserable that day.
We had the fishing dock to ourselves.
One guy showed up later and we made room for him.
The dock railings looked like a long range fishing boat.
We had ten poles out and the other guy three.

The town it is close to is La Grange.
The same place ZZ Top is singing about in the song with the same name.
And that movie was made about.
I heard the lake had some big blue cats in it.

I got some news from the eye doctor that made me break into tears.
I need surgery in both eyes.
No one to take me to and from surgery twice.
Left my phone in truck.
Went to truck had missed call.
It was my long time freind and fishing buddy.
Told him I was going to need eye surgery.
Without me asking he said he will take care of me.
This is the way this man is always giving and seldom receiving anything in return.
Doesn't ask for it.
He wouldn't take money to save his life.
Well his gift in return for helping me will be here Sunday.
Something he would never buy for himself.
Here it is.
An Avet SXMC lever drag.
Gotta figure out a way to hide it in his truck with a card or note.

What a blessing to have a friend like that. And I'm sure he will really appreciate your thoughtfulness in return. When are the surgeries?

I haven't scheduled my consultation yet.
Will next week.

Both of our lives parallel eachothers in so many ways from childhood on up.
Beatings by mean fathers.
Raised on farms.
Lost wives that did all the paperwork.
Animal lovers of all creatures great and small.
Talk to the fish when we put them back in the water.
Raised around machine shops and paint and body shops.
Both fathers had body shops.
Mothers we ran to when in trouble.
Could of turned into real mean jerks but became people with empathy instead.

Eye surgery is very easy these days. I had cataract surgeries in January. It was relatively a breeze. So please no worries. It is great that you have a friend like that to lean on when you need them.

Glad to see you got out fishing Worth. It's good for the soul. I just returned home yesterday from a 11 day trip fishing with my 85 year old uncle on Okeechobee & am just not getting caught up here. Will post some pics later. Good luck with the eye surgery. Your friend will love the gifted reel.

Worth, I was worried there for a second. I live a little too far away to help but was thinking who could I get to help... but you have all taken care of. I am serious. don't ever hesitate to ask if you need something. I would hope i would be able to find help for you. its not like we haven't helped there.
Hope all goes well and is a quick recovery.

A nice lady at the eye doctor told me she went to the place I will go to and how easy it was nothing to worry about.
My friend swears up and down we will go to the coast this year in his new boat he doesn't have yet.
We missed the last trip because work got in our way.
I dont think work should get in the way of fishing and something that needs to be changed in this country.
Too much work and not enough time for family and friends.

Reels scheduled to show up yesterday.
Had to hang around because I had to sign for them.
FedEx.
Even hadestimated time.
On truck heading to my place.
Really needed to go somewhere but stuck.
Day getting dark.
New information no delivery scheduled at this time.
Make phone calls told it will be delivered.
New schedule pops up.
Delivery Tuesday.
What the hell.
Call back told them I won't be home to sign for it.
Had the things dropped off at Walgreens fedex drop off center when they show up.
What happened to my reels?
No explanation.
Why two days after they are already in the area?
No explanation I could understand accent gets thicker.
Gave up asking.
Talked to a Joe Scott Bill and so on all sounded like they were in India.
Total fish stories I hope the package isn't lost.
Maybe the truck broke down or something.
The last time this happened with FedEx I had to reorder something for someone.
Took almost a month.
That time they dropped it off at the wrong address and the people stole it.

Knock on door.
FedEx wasn't expecting them.
Reels came in delivered here not Walgreens.
No worries they're in my hands now.
Wee little things.
The two drag scales were free with each reel.
About a $35 dollar value each one.
