All day tornado warning right where I live.
But no wind at my house at all just thunder storms and rain.

Rain's been scarce so far this month (0.14") after the extremely wet 22" for Jan-Apr.

Big temp differences lately. This April's average high and low were spot on the April average for this locale. But May! The average high so far this month is just a tad cooler than normal. However, the average low of 49.7 so far this month is anywhere from 6 to 10 degrees below average for that period going back the 21 years I've been keeping the my data. It's been a real struggle getting beans to come up.

Starting tomorrow warm weather finally comes back. After today's high of 73, it will increase several degrees a day until we're at 94 on Monday!

Big storms last night. Big wind, big lightning, big rain, 3” 1/4 inches of that. Tree limbs down everywhere. No hail thankfully. Daughter was out delivering wildebeests in west texas and they had walnut sized hail out there near Sonora, power got knocked out there, then the storms rolled on from there to the coast. Earlier, Another storm complex came off the northern gulf and travelled West. That rolled through at dusk yesterday dumping 3/4” of rain quickly, then the two systems met up somewhere in central texas and the western one won the battle and marched through here at 3:00 am. David Paul, Weather man for KHOU said the two systems would sort of cancel each other out with western one staying together, but greatly weakened, but it didn’t play out like that as the western system was a beast here.

Wind Broke the bamboo stake at the ground holding up my 6’ Old German plant. Plant was laying on the ground. Fixed that. All the tall tomatoes were knocked around. My super tall Pineapple plant slumped down on its stakes a foot and a half and tilted at 20 degrees, bent the main stem, but didn’t break. Same story for mortgage lifter. Short, bushy tomato plants did fine. A few peppers got broken stems, zucchini plants tossed around. Immature Sunflowers all blown over, same with the sweet corn. Salvage a little of each. My 8’ pole bean tower covered with foliage held up like a champ. You know the wind force on that must have been huge, like a big sail. So did the spaghetti squash and cucumber bamboo trellises hold up very nicely. All those multiple poles anchored deep in the ground. Single anchored bamboo pole tall tomato plants, not so much, those just can’t handle massive winds. Need at least one additional pole.

Last time I’ll ever single pole a tall tomato. Too much wind here.

My weather was about the same as yours, kars. The ground became saturated and the poles fell over due to the weight of the hanging baskets. I'm thinking many of my tomatoes on the vine are going to taste mushy.

Our nice streak of weather have officially ended I think. Nights are going into the low-mid 70s and days climbling into the 90s along with 75%+ humidity. I wish there is a longer transition period, like heat but no humidity until July or something, but that's the deep south for ya.

Might be the first day this year I crack 90 degrees here at the house. I’m sure the nearby city has already blown through 90, but I’m out enough away from the urban heat islands to be significantly cooler. Dew points still pretty tolerable, too.

It's cold and rainy here and only 48 degrees. My tomatoes are getting some of the cold treatment this year, so they should be nice and sturdy if they don't succumb to molds first.

May 15 is usually the date for planting tomatoes in a greenhouse here. But we are still unseasonably cold. Tonight and tomorrow night will drop to -1C, so the tomatoes must wait for another few days in the house.
Really I 'm waiting to get some compost for my containers, but weather would've stopped me anyhow.

We have just had 5 nice days, now forecast is for another 2 inches over the next 5 or so and for a better than even chance of a wet winter

Argh waking up to see snow on the trees, snow on the ground, snow coming down. It won't amount to much but what an unwelcome sight.

We finally got 4" of good, much needed rain last evening. Just to show how dry it has been, four inches came down and there's no standing water down at the bottom of the garden where water accumulates or anywhere else. The earth just took a nice long drink.

Dew points really jumped up, too. First day this year that feels like full blown South Texas hot and humid summer weather.

What a change today from the past week! We've been running in the 80's until this front moved in and our high of the day was 64 at 6:30 this morning. It's 61 now. We've had 3/4" of rain and the wind's uncharacteristically out of the northeast around 4 to 10mph. I can hear the tomatoes shivering right now!

we have an uptick in the weather.
we are having a stretch of warmer weather with highs in the 70s, lows have finally crept up
into the 50s, allowing me to put the seedlings outside to harden off. lots of sun has dried the ground
up, allowing us to get out and do some garden prepping, and just enjoy being out doors.
i transplanted a bunch of garlic that i some how missed, mostly bulbils that i had planted last year
extending the three rows i planted last year after doing some clean up. most were rounds, but also
had several clumps from bulbils that had divided into bulbs. i lost count, but somewhere between 60 to 80
plants were transplanted.

it is still may. weather will be closely monitored. we can get frost into june, so no planting of tender plants just yet.

Speechless at Ohio weather. Was 32*F two weeks, ago, then a week of rain, next week are all 85-90*F. Pretty much all the brassicas are gonna bolt.
