@Toomanytomatoes well there you go... just leave things blank and let Tormato fill it in with his own standards and then he won't be able to complain.

Katja - Someone was kind enough to send seeds for Katja in. While looking at Tatianna's site she says that there are two varieties in circulation of this tomato. There is a large pink and a small to medium red. Do we know which one was sent in? My seed is from 2022 and labeled as 60 days.

The Katja is the smaller variety if it's mine. If it's what I sent it's marked with an LB on a piece of white cardstock inside the baggie with the seed. Original source was Delectation of Tomatoes.
I have some seed from 2020 of the larger variety if you want both. They germinated fine for me this year.

Yeah, this is normal for them. I could always tell the Groovy Tunes just from the color of the leaves. They stay light green for their whole lives.

With a name like Groovy Tunes, and your work background, I thought perhaps you took a hit of acid in the 60s, it's now just kicking in, and you are seeing things.

By what you've revealed about yourself, through the years, I knew that you were the straightest of arrows. I was just having a bit of fun with you.rxkeith wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:36 am nah, i was a real straight arrow, back then, still am.

You asked for "any" information.

Perhaps ohiogardener can translate for you.
Me, I'd work on trying to get one to germinate and grow, before researching any variety.
I substituted that one for another heart that was requested.

That is helpful, knowing what to look for in size and color. It looks really nice. Got the Elbonians planted today.

Re: 2022 variety questions and maybe answers
The seeds are from Nikitovka. They don't appear to be offering them now, but their description was "Early open pollinated variety for direct outdoor sowing. Determinate (bush) tomato. Round, firm, bright-red tomatoes, weight 130-160g (4.5-5.5oz.) with a very good taste. Use fresh, for canning and juice." I don't see anything there about a hybrid from Ukrainian sources, including on listings for commercial seed packs. The photos definitely show a more rounded tomato though. Occasionally I find off-types from E. European sources, including Nikitovka. Another thing is the photos Russian & Ukrainian sources sometimes use are stock photos and not necessarily of the offered variety, so I'm not sure how significant the different shape is. Here's a link to commercial packs of Galaktika:BettyC-5 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 3:20 pm Galaktika is one of 4 tomatoes from Ukraine seed that was offered by OhioGardener. This is the description: Early ripe hybrid, fruit ripening occurs 105-110 days after full germination, for cultivation in open ground and under film shelters. The plant is determinate with short internodes. The fruits are round, slightly ribbed, the color of the mature fruit is raspberry, the flesh is pink. Fruit weight 130-140 g. Excellent taste. Commercial yield 11.4 kg/sq.m. The hybrid is resistant to TMV, Fusarium, Cladosporiosis.
My plant just getting ripe and it is on it's side--darn

Ludmilla's Peach came from me. It's a large orange paste type with an oblong shape. It's listed as early season by the vendor whom I purchased it from, but it was more mid-season for me. Of course, it wasn't in an optimal location when I grew it so it might just have been a little later for me. I'm putting it in a better spot this year, so I guess time will tell.Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 12:34 pm Ok, finally went through everything. Here are a few more I could not find some, or no, info on:
Korn Kornesev (from Denmark?)
Krazniy Kristall (Red Crystal, red paste from Ukraine)
Lindy's Little Krim (Black Krim variant?)
Ludmilla's Peach (orange paste)
Not Japanese Pink Cherry
Orangevyi Velikan (Orange Giant, orange slicer from Russia)
Parika (red paste)
Primorski Pacug (red slicer from Slovenia)
TAT
Tigerella Nero (black cocktail-sized)
Timpurii (determinate from Romania)
Unnamed Pink Cherry
Urolacium Kryp (Is this Violaceum Krypni Rozo?)
Vumicic
WV Yellow (Is this supposed to be West Virginia Yellow?)
Zaitska (red slicer from Russia)
Here's the link for the vendor. https://www.tomatoeden.net/product-page ... 0%BB%D1%8B
Though I see that she changed the spelling to Ludmila with one L. It was with two L's before.

Parika is most likely Paprika
Not Japanese Pink Cherry is an unstable cross of Pink Cherry. I have gotten pink and yellow cherries of different sizes from this one and all have had great flavor
WV Yellow is most likely West Virginia Yellow
