[mention]Dee[/mention] I feel your pain. What a wierd summer we had, blowing hot and cold. The only thing certain is that today's weather is not an indicator of tomorrow's! Heat warning stretched from Monday into Thursday and plenty hot Friday, today has been around 70 F pleasant with a weak but icy breeze, and now there is a frost warning for tonight.
The only thing for sure about the weather this year, it was not what you expected for that month. Too cold in May with snow on the ground, then July heat for the last week of May and most of June, punctuated with cold snaps. Thought we turned the corner into July when tomatoes are 'safe' to put out, but July turned out to be April with a few July snaps. Now August is July again except September for tonight. And so on, no doubt...
If it's one thing we don't need, it's confused vegetables.

Yea, I’m even closer to the gulf than the Clear lake area. This track has changed quite a bit over the hours. Doesn’t appear the computers are getting a good lock on all the data yet. Plus, it really doesn’t look like a big and bad one at any rate and not a stall out and dump an ocean of moisture on us either. The stall out and dump half the Gulf of Mexico over us are the ones to avoid.

Cold, wet windy here, luck to get to 6C, 43F. Missed worst of rain, only 14 mm here in gauge, lot around us double that plus hail which we missed fortunately.

Nice afternoon shower here, thundering quite a bit too. Plenty of free fixed nitrogen for the plants thanks to the frequent lightning. Amazing how these noisy storms really green things up.

But the best news is that Marco is almost certainly heading elsewhere. That’s not so good for the elsewhere, looks like it might be central to east/Mississippi delta area of Louisiana.

It doesn't get any more 2020 than this. I have been watching The Weather Channel tonight and it looks like Louisiana will get Marco first and then a day and a half later get Laura.

I'm in New Orleans and it looks like we got lucky once again. I harvested my peppers and eggplants yesterday just in case. But now, it's sunny and breezy and not a rain cloud in sight. Let's hope it keeps this way and that most of Marco and Laura will dissipate before landfall!

We're having the friendly thundershowers today. It has been really dry, so it's a great day for all the wild plants out there that don't have anyone to water them!

I'm near Seattle. We had a very cold and rainy start to the year. Still haven't gotten a large tomato to ripen, but will this week. Lots of cherry tomatoes. For comparison, last year we were eating our early large tomatoes in the first week of August and two years ago we started eating tomatoes in the third week of July. But dry and sunny weather prevails for the next two weeks!

El Lago is currently under a hurricane warning and storm surge warning.

Yep, I’ve spent the entire morning battening down the hatches. Anything loose is now stashed or put away. I’m too high here for a storm surge to be any issue and this storm isn’t going to linger to dump feet of rain like in Harvey. Models now mostly putting it a little east of Galveston not far from the Texas Louisiana border. Not so great for the golden triangle, but better for the Houston and Galveston area. Lot more homes and people to hurt here than there.
