Now that I think about it I was taking apart and putting back together a 60 thousand dollar machine when I was 24.
Any mistake meant total disaster and possibly death or injury.
I had to set this thig up several times a day.
I just can't wrap my mind around the lack of responsibility these people have.
Complete and total lack of curiosity.
The smart phone and social media has become a pacifier for these people.
They simply can't put it down.

Well I think some of the other people are starting to see this also.
The ones that don't normally work in the field.
Things got tight and they had to work in the field.
Next I heard another key member quit.

Seems like various once reliable vendors and such aren’t so reliable these days. No one seems to have enough help. Calls for service get pushed back indefinitely or simply ignored. Promised goods are sitting in some container somewhere. I manage some commercial property and finding a good this or that contractor or vendor is like finding a pot of gold. I don’t dicker on price and pay them the moment they get done. They all know they are hot commodities, but the best ones don’t treat you that way. But, others are worse than nothing, finding expensive problems that aren’t even there or creating new ones by careless work, like burning holes with hot solder drip in membrane roofs. Getting anything done like it was in 2019 and the previous years is night and day.

There are two custom houses going up near me. One is going on three years and still isn’t done. The other is in its second year. There will be some activity once in a while, then weeks of nothing. I know another remodel project is on hold because some stone flooring is stuck in some port and some doors on back order. My friend fire control systems in commercial and industrial areas among other things and he’s had tons of challenges getting the materials he needs. Same for another friend that manages construction on electrical sub stations. Enormous lead times getting what they need. They order stuff 9 months ahead of time in hopes to get it when they need it. He’s very close to retirement and says it can’t come soon enough.

I came right out and told a ridiculously young and rude GC the other day, you can't really be serious.
The guy really ticked me off we had a meeting and every time I went to say something important he would cut me off.
Three's a charm and I walked off.
This idiot said we needed more people on the job.
From where, it isn't like you can just snap your fingers and get more qualified people.
Not only is it impossible it's an insult to the trade.
Does he think our job is so simple we can just put anyone on it?

Snapping Turtle Hatching Season has commenced in these here parts.

During my morning run I rescued four (4) li'l guys and walked them over to the pond 250-300 yards/229-174 meters away, up a curb and through tall grass; a distance I don't believe they'd have made on their own.

They must have smelled the pond water as we got near because they became quite agitated; their li'l necks craned out ~ half their abbreviated body lengths and they started digging their li'l claws into my salvation providing hands.

I don't know what you guys hear in the news in other parts of the country about what goes on here in Texas.
But I heard about this the other day about a school getting sued by parents.
They are fit to be tied and I don't blame them.
The whole town is in an uproar.
Here is the deal and I'll post a link as well.
This old man bus driver molested 2 sisters 5 and 7 years old on the school bus over 100 times.
Its on the busses video surveillance camera.
The guy was arrested for it and he killed himself in jail.
Or did he and someone killed him?
We may never know and I don't care how he died.

Something should have set off an alarm bell when he was keeping the children on the bus by themselves to help clean it.
In most cases video isn't reviewed until something happens or is reported.
There would be hundreds of hours of video to review from all the busses.
My wife was abused by a youth minister in the Baptist church along with other girls her age.
They didn't turn him in because they thought they would get in trouble and had done something wrong.
Another friend of mine a guy was molested by his next door neighbor.
He didn't turn him in because he didn't want to see his father go to prison for murder.
There are many reasons children don't or wait so long to report this stuff.

Some years ago they had a school sponsored bikini car wash at a store.
My wife said get your eyes full.
I told her full of what they are all like 12 13 years old.
Then she noticed too we both thought it was disgusting and wrong to do this.
Ther was an old guy at the store off in a distance just looking at them constantly.
I told my wife there was something wrong with him.
About a month later I saw on the news where this same guy got caught exposing himself to little girls.
He was a bus driver for that same school.

A cousin worked in a local prison here and he stated child molesters and such were treated the same as anyone else in there by the other prisoners. Ditto on rapists.

There are science studies out that show child abuse runs down through families. A child is abused tends to grow up and be an abuser. It just goes on and on.

Yeah its a myth they die in prison.
If that were true there wouldn't be so many let back out on the streets to have a go at it again.
I have heard that they are put in isolation from the rest of the population.
No idea how true that is.

The experience of my Dear late Father (a career corrections/probation-parole specialist) and a mountain of research suggests otherwise.

Not at this prison for the main groups, part of the Huntsville system, the openly gay or very young or weak prisoners that are likely to be raped by the predatory ones are housed in a seperate building as far as living quarters. They all mix during the out hours though. Many who cannot behave even in Prison get put in a building called adseg, 23 hour a day lock down and away from everyone. Cousin has worked there for a few years, said there is no real reform there, just waiting to get out again.

I can't speak from personal knowledge, never want to be there, not even for work let alone for any criminal reason.

They stopped prison reform at least in Texas years ago.
It di your time and get out now.
Many times you don't even do your time.
In my opinion there is no reform for a clinical child molester.
Of which is defined as 12 years old and below I think.
A 20 year old with a 16 year old in some states is a sex offender.

VERY HIGH recidivism for the group you's reference, and apparently other prisoners aren't their only concern.

We had one young woman sexualy assaulted by the staff of a woman's protection center.

Some new guy at work seems to think it's OK to steal from big companies like home depot because they make so much money.
Yes he is at that young age.
No regard as to the fact it's wrong to steal.

He’s just making it more expensive for everyone else. In effect, we are all chipping in, involuntarily, so that he can get it for free. Any added costs, higher taxes, stuff walking out the door no charge, all get passed on to the consumer, you and me. So he’s right in a way, stealing doesn’t hurt Home Depot, they just pass the additional costs along, but it really only hurts the honest consumer because the honest consumer has to cover the additional costs by paying a now higher price for the item than it would have been otherwise if your coworker hadn’t stole it. 5% of sawzalls walking out the door due to theft, then ultimately, sawzalls will cost 5% more, everything else being equal.

Tell him, “look jerkwad, I don’t want to pay for your free stuff and I doubt anyone else in Home Depot does either” “Why don’t we go ask everyone “Hey, you don’t mind buying Joe here a new Drill do you?” See what the response is. Probably won’t be favorable.

Why should he get his stuff for free? What makes him so special? What if everyone decides not to pay for their stuff? Yes, your coworker is very wrong.

He didn't actually say he did it but justified it.
In my opinion a thief can't be trusted.
They are a lier and back staber too.
He said he knew how to do all this stuff like use a meter when they hired him.
He doesn't know squat.
You can't trust these younger people many times.
Its horrible.

There are three of us on the job that know what we're doing.
The rest can't be trusted with a meter or troubleshooting.
All they can do is so called grunt work and one gets to sit at the panel all day.
Guess who gets to run all over the place fixing crap other idiots did wrong?
These buildings are huge and I'm wore the hell out.
So is everyone else.
Sometimes as I'm going from one spot to the next I catch one of these guys sitting on their butts stroking their phone.
I get up at 3:15 in the morning suck down a cup coffee and leave the house at 3:45.
Clock in at 5;45.
I get 30 minutes lunch while these near do wells take an hour and back to work till 4:30..
Yesterday one of us didn't even get a lunch.
I'm getting about 5 hours most of sleep every night.
What really sucked this week was I worked 7 hours overtime and won't get paid for it because it was a holiday week.
