Fine and warm to hot in this part of Australia, 25 to 30C and very little rain in forecast, unlike Townsville in tropical Queensland, which with 2.49 m or 8 feet 2 inches of rain so far this year has already broken it's highest annual rainfall record.

It only got up to 47° out back today (63° average for this date), and it rained the whole time I was up today, and is getting worse (or should I say better?) later tonight, and well into the morning, with a lot of orange and red in the radar. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder, and rain is continuing into Sunday, but eventually it is warming up, and next week sun will return, but still possible rain later on.

@Whwoz when I hear about such impossible amounts of rain, it makes me think of the terrain there, and how excesses of rain must've shaped the land.
We see it here, what my Dad used to call "natural drains", that the water carved out a rocky bottom down through the hills.

@bower, haven't spent a lot of time up in that region but it tends to be hilly, with the highest mountain in Queensland just south of Cairns and the Great Divide running down the coast. Can have a tendency to trap storms leading to these high rainfall recordings. Yes natural drains do exist, but even they have problems coping with the volume at times, particularly in narrow gorges and other bottlenecks which can see ridiculous water depths as a result

Don't feel bad! We've had a nice couple of days up here with highs in the 50s-60s, but we're scheduled for a couple of lows that constitute a hard freeze! Then the lows will bounce back up to the 40s. Serious snow is still a possibility here and half of the soil in my raised beds is still frozen.

It's supposed to get to 60° later today, and, though it's only 50° at noon, it's already much warmer than it got yesterday! I went out there to check to see how much rain I got in the last 2½ days, and there was just over 2¼" - that's in addition to the 3"+ I had before that, so it's been over 5" so far in April. I don't know if this area has been taken out of the drought area, but it was only on the edge of the "moderate drought" zone, before this rain came. And in the 7 day forecast only 2 days are totally "clear". I like the rain, but I have to get out there sometime!

It's a gorgeous day here, 63 now and headed to 71. It looks like we'll be bouncing around between 70's and 80's for the next ten days. Up and down and up and down. No rain in sight. Yep, it's spring.

Officially, we hit 98F here yesterday, here at the house, it hit 100F, very bright without a cloud in sight. Finally cooling off for a few days, after that sudden hit of heat. Too much and too sudden, even the birds were keeping it quiet.

snowing and blowing here.
started off the day at 40 degrees and raining off and on.
now its 34 degrees, and snowing. could get anywhere from 2 to 9 inches
in some areas. we are more likely to be in the 2 to 4 range. all this brought
to us by the wicked wind from the west in the upper 20s mph. gusts are 30s
to 40s mph. by tomorrow this unpleasantness should stop, and we will be getting
some warmer weather again. hope this is the last big blow for the winter season.
i said that after the last one too.

Last night I got another ½" of rain, then another ¼" this evening, and after it got up to 68° today, the wind in some areas around here got over 60 mph gusts, but here it was "only" about 45 mph. It is already down to 50°, and not getting much cooler, but also not getting much warmer tomorrow, only supposed to get to 54°, and still windy. After that, getting almost back to average, then above average, every day after. Hopefully the wind will come down, when that temperature goes up.

We've had cold and serious winds the last two days as well. Today is going to be better, then a summer storm is forecast for Thursday night. Thankfully it's supposed to be nice for the NFL draft, so hopefully Skywarn won't be needed. The tourists can drop some money and go home LOL! Our population is supposed to triple for that week and many businesses are closing. I'm planning to lay in supplies and hang out in my garden. It won't be a good time to go to the store. Any store. But the weather should be nice!

Hot and dry for today, temp today hit (officially) 94F, add at least 3 F for here....I haven't turned the air on yet, it seems bad to use air conditioning in April !! The nights are good sleeping temps, so after dark, I open things up and cool the house down to a comfortable temp. The next few days are supposed to be more normal temps, 70's ish.

I just hate to start earlier, watching the electric meter spin around faster and the folks at the electric co. deciding their kids are going to a better school after all, LOL. Good schools are nice, but I prefer to contribute later than sooner !

I'll raise you a pack of Faribo Goldheart seeds. Tornado sirens going off now, but it appears I am between rotations. Isolated baseball sized hail. More common ping pong or golf ball sized.

Oops I spoke too soon... 3 inch hail to my south.

Since we didn't get any precipitation all winter, it's no surprise we've entered Stage 3 Water restrictions.

Landscape watering with an irrigation system, sprinkler or soaker hose is allowed only once a week from 5 – 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. – midnight on your designated watering day, as determined by your address.
Watering with drip irrigation is allowed every Monday and Friday, but only from 5 a.m. – 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. – midnight.

This morning was the first day in a while that it wasn't windy! It only got down to 43° on my back thermometer, but many areas in S Jersey got much lower, and got some frost in some areas, helped by the lack of wind. It was 53° when I got up, around 9:00, and it is forecast to get to 73°, with the wind to come back later on, though nothing like it has been. And tomorrow is supposed to be up to 83°, with lows in the 60s, and every day in the extended forecast is above average temp. I'm wondering if this will continue into May - these last few years we've been getting cool the first week or so in May, which is why I started my tomatoes and EP a little later.

So far, but deeply overcast, mild breezes for here, cool and comfortable. Stalling putting out some plants as we might get some stronger storms possible some hail, too, tonight and I have no way to cover the plants if it does hail. We seem to be getting more hail this year, last time the yard looked like it snowed. Got the garbage out to the dumpster so won't have to deal with muddy areas if it does rain.

Hoping for a NICE good soaking rain, mother nature, and passing on the hail, please !!

82°, humid, but in a pleasant way.

Next week looks like we get a good shot at some rain. Not as dry here as to the west of us, but still plenty dry. I put a little water and TTF on the tomatoes this morning. They weren’t exactly dry, but I didn’t want them to get too dry then have a bunch of rain be too much of a shock.

I have aphids in the greenhouse. We're getting too many goose egg nights to be putting all those plants outside without cover or shelter, and really it's too early yet... Not a great situation. Much Safers soap spray.
Outdoors I spent some time moving things around and thinking about an emergency setup for plants that just gotta go, but too cool really to do it with confidence. Highs in the 40's today, windy and a dew point in the low 30's F.
