Re: Queen of Malinalco husk tomato
They germinated 5 seeds and they germinated in just a few days all, 100x100 success, I think they don't like the cold, I send a picture of a tomato and queen of malianco germinated the same day.

Re: Queen of Malinalco husk tomato
Arnorrian, how many definitive plants are you going to plant? all the ones you have in the photos? I'm only going to put 5 plants, which germinated from the beginning.

Re: Queen of Malinalco husk tomato
Those in the pictures are two varieties, QoM and Purple tomatillo. I have four plants each, and thinking of planting three each in buckets on the opposite sides of my yard. But my largest QoM seedlung got tiny bumps all over its leaves. I'm not sure if enough will survive ubtil I can tranplant them outside. Maybe I will have to plant both varieties together, if at least three plants make it, so they can fertilize each other. But then saving seeds will give me a hybrid. Could be interesting.
Tomatillo should be a very fruitful species. I read that one plant is for you, the second is for preserving, and the third one is for the neighbors.
Hou do you pronounce tomatillo in your part of Spain, tomatiyo or tomatilyo?

Re: Queen of Malinalco husk tomato
Arnorrian everything sounds pretty good, I like it. Tomatillo and QoM can cross? I had understood that QoM was a different species than tomatillo.

Both are Physalis ixocarpa, so they should be able to cross. But I hope it won't come to that.
I'm asking about the pronunciation because Spain is a patchwork when it comes to yeísmo.
