Did y'all know it is against the law to use imported shrimp as bait in Texas waters.
They can carry a deadly virus that infects crustaceans including crawfish crabs shrimp and so on.
You can only use gulf shrimp.
Please dont used imported shrimp as bait.

Most of them were Worth. I see 2 Blacks in the pic. One to the left of the water bottle & another center/right. The whites will have what looks like vertical lines. I'm wanting to go back as I know those fish are still there but the river went up 2ft since Monday and it was already 5-6 ft. above pool. I had to take my shoes/socks off that day to get the boat launched & loaded. Hoping to hit it again tomorrow or Friday. No contact with anyone & it's the perfect way to isolate. IMHO

That's what I thought I saw too.
We have some good crappie lakes close to me but I need a boat.
And the lake close to my house is shut down till farther notice.
Along with others.
Not for sure but one good thing that might come out of this is maybe the salmon will get a break this year.
Alaska is literally swamped during the spring salmon run.

One of my co workers is from Ecuador.
Really nice guy.
He went to a containment pond yesterday after work and caught some large mouth bass.
Took them home and had supper.
Most of everything is closed now.

Just got back from another day on the water. I've been fishing a lot but not getting much cooperation from the fish. LOL Even thru the week there are lot of people out. Definitely more than normal. Cold front pushed thru here lately & fluctuating water levels have the crappie scattered I guess. Never more than one out of any spot.

The Pflueger supreme reels are still on sale.
co worker went fishing yesterday and didn't catch anything.
I had to weed eat the yard.
Today it's freezing cold and windy.

Fenwick had a big sale on Fenwick Eagle rods and I slipped in right before they ran out of everything.
The one I wanted was sold out so I ended up getting the 7 foot 6 inch medium heavy rod.
Moved over and got another of the Pflueger Supreme reels they still have in sale.
With discount coupon, sales and free shipping I basically ended up getting a free rod out of the deal.
I haven't been grocery shopping in a coons age and figured why not.
I love Fenwick rods and the Supreme bait casting reels Pflueger makes.
Yes I know some people are struggling but I need to think about the people that have jobs too.
Like the folks at these places I order from.
Doing my part in keeping the economy going so to speak.

Got the rod and reel in today.
Cant be happier with them.
The rod weighs around 6 ounces and the reel and rod combined loaded with 14 pound mono weighs 14 ounces or so.
The thing has a backbone to no end and the combination is out right beautiful.
The fast action almost insures a good hook set in a catfish.
Casts like a dream too and can easily handle way more than the one once lure rating.
Probably one of the best rod and reel combinations I have.

Another fisherman here. Living on a freshwater lake full of LMB, catfish, crappie, and sunfish makes fishing very convenient.

I might love the nearby saltwater fishing even more.

I haven’t been out in the saltwater in at least a month or more. Fishing here is technically allowed, but traveling to fishing sites has been mostly discouraged and many access points closed or blocked. Works out that if you live on the water, you can fish. I’ve fished a little out in the lake behind the house recently. Mostly been busy with other home and garden projects so fishing has taken the back seat. Things are relaxing a bit here on travel and access and I’ll probably make a saltwater kayak or surf wade trip soon.

To continue this.
This is how it happened ,he seemed curious about them texting me this weekend.
I replied today if he ordered one.
He said no he wanted to see the action of the rod first.
I told him it might be awhile before he saw mine due to stuff going on.
I said they will sell out soon and the sale will be over.
If you dont like the rod I will buy it from you so you wont be out anything.
Then I went on and said they have the 7 foot medium on sale for 29 bucks and by the way I still have your Avet reel in the truck and it would do nicely with the medium heavy rod.
He said he would order.'
I then sent him a discount code for 10% off and to try it. :)
We go on and on with each other trying to sucker each other into buying stuff.
He sends me links to boats to buy all the time.

They ran out.
But will be back in stock on the first of May.
The sale seems to continue.

Spent today throwing jigs in a local watering hole. Cold weather keeping them slow. If it ever warms up it will be on.
