So I hear Steve Stevens playing a riff to a whole lotta love by LED Zeppelin and I just gotta crank the Bass up full blast for about 30 minutes on full gain and overdrive for all the distortion I can get.
And tried to play it on bass.
Probably jumped the neighbors out of bed.

there is a single johnny jump up violet growing in one of the gardens, the kind that has
dark purple petals, and yellow in the center. i have no idea where it came from nor have
grown it in the past. it seems happy where its at, and i like the flowers, so it stays.

i got a good tip from an older woman one day at wally world.
to help ensure you get a shopping cart with four good wheels on it,
look at the nuts holding the wheels on the cart. pick a cart that doesn't
have rusted nuts.

I’m guessing it’s the salts used to melt snow that is causing the carts to rust. Up north, they have literal mountains of road salt to combat icy roads and walkways. That salt film coats everything. You had better have good wiper blades and plenty of wiper fluid or be prepared to drive with your head out the window.

The second most terrifying several seconds I have ever had behind the wheel was accelerating up a short on ramp of I-495 and being rendered completely blind by the combination of road salt film, ice and brilliant sunlight striking the windshield shortly after dawn.

Having zero vision accelerating to 70 mph in early rush hour traffic isn’t as much fun as it sounds.

I've been reading Walmart is having a hard time with the shopping carts automatically locking up before the people can get to the car.

i heard it first. i was out in the garden today when i heard the sound of a plane engine(s).
this was no ordinary sound though. it was loud, really loud, and getting louder by the second.
then i saw it after it crested the pines on the property. a plane flying east from the airport near by.
it was low, really low, couldn't have been any more five hundred feet. i have seen birds flying higher.
as it flew almost directly overhead, i could see its underside. the landing gear doors were open. the
plane was larger than i am used to seeing here. we have a small airport. the runways are short, and can't
handle the larger jets. this plane looked military. it was painted green, had a wide body. no clue what make.
i watched it bank, and circle around and head back to the airport, where it landed.

so why was it flying so low?
it may have had to abort a landing. big plane, small runway, the pilot may have thought they were going to run out
of runway. or, the pilot may have done a low fly by to get a better idea of when to put the plane down.
whatever the reason, it was something to see.

2 engine prop i think. it wasn't no c130. my wife flew on those. no way they could land here.
landing gear was still up.
the more i think about it, prolly wasn't anything to do with landing issues, i would of heard it.
planes landing with a west wind often circle around just north or south from where i am at.
this plane for whatever reason passed right over us real low. not something i would want to
have happen on a regular basis. that was some kind of loud.

I used to live in the landing path of the old airport in Austin Texas.
Address 5108 Avenue G.
That puts the Jets well below 500 feet before they landed at the airport.
They would strip the leaves out of the pecan trees as they went over.

it has been a bitter sweet week for a church family of ours.
on monday, the first grand child alivia nicole made her appearance into the world.
on tuesday, nathan, the brother of the new grandmother died. he was in his early forties.
he had brain cancer that quickly progressed. his dying wish was to be able to come to the
copper country one more time. his parents drove him from tennessee where they live almost
nonstop. they weren't sure if he would survive the trip. they made it here monday night. he
was still alert and able to speak. the next day he was gone.

I found 43 dollars on the ground and my young lady coworker was really impressed that I called the GC and told him.
He came out and collected it and put it in an envelope in case someone reported lost money.
Not likely because most people think that other people would just put it in their pocket.
My coworker was really surprised I did this and commented on how honorable I was.
My reply was I have everything to gain by not taking it and everything to lose by keeping it.
I also know that the GC will not keep it because his is a good honest man.
If it comes back to me I will tell him to just donate it to the church he gives food too in Lampasas Texas.
I'm not asking for any rewards I'm just saying how things should be.

ACC wants to have free tuition for kids graduating in 2024.
Others are up in arms.
Hollering it's not free it's the tax payer.
The way I look at it ACC has a good educational program covering all manner of things.
Any help will be better than no help at all.
Community college is by far a better choice than going to an expensive university for most people.
Maybe a little help in education now will mean not paying for problems later on like prison.

My son got his GED. He basically didn’t attend high school, maybe one or one and a half years actually in class adding it all up. The Covid shutdown was part of that and he was in a region where schools shut down for months and months or had this bizarre partial in class hybrid online classes. Online high school was an absolute disaster for him, and for many of his peers.

Anyway, he overcame the terrible disaster of high school, aced his GED, had a 4.0 at Junior College and worked roughly 30 hours a week while doing it. He got all the basics out of the way at JC, got some scholarship money via Jeff Bezos ex-wife, seriously,, the whole school was eligible, I don’t know exactly the rules or details. The scholarship money was significant. I think he got some for being a GED student also. I just paid his fall tuition at Texas. There was a $750 scholarship attached to the bill. Son, where did that come from? Son was not sure, but he always and truthfully fills out the financial aid forms. He said it might be something related to the GED. The scholarship didn’t list where it came from.

I think the disaster of high school actually help him. Made him want to succeed, to undo the disastrous high school experience, the whole deal focused his efforts and there was a desire to buck the odds and prove himself to the naysayers and doubters, many on staff at the school and or family, to show how they were wrong. He felt like the system and many of the so-called adults let him down, but if he was free to make a choice to succeed and do things as he saw fit, he would be a success. So far, he’s been right. He’s been motivated and got great grades in the honors program at Texas. One last year to get it done.

The University of Texas was his dream school. Seemed like such a long shot to get there with being a GED kid. He did have to write an essay to get in. Must have been one heck of an essay, but he’s never let me see it.

The scholarship money is nice, whatever it all ends up totaling. Very helpful, any extra funds to offset the costs. Plus, it’s rewarding a hard working and dedicated student that is proving himself academically.

@bower
It's too late for my teeth I've had to pull them all myself or live in constant pain because I couldn't get an appointment or whatever reason.
I have a few left but not many.
I haven't had any real sleep in probably months now.
Not from pain but just can't go to sleep and stay that way for hours.
I'm so tired I don't know what to do with myself.
Last night was nuts never had anything happen ever before.
I threw the soaking wet shirt off wrapping myself in blankets and sat there and shiverd for well over an hour.
Now my nose won't stop running and I'm constantly sneezing.
Oh now I remember it was pouring down rain yesterday and I got soaked.

Yeah I saw that but I really had no other option.
One thing that's been going on is beyond anything one could possibly imagine.
I quit working for the company I used to work for for good lord 5 years I put up with them.
No sooner than I left the owner sold to another bigger company.
The company I went to work for got bought out by another company.
They came down and let a ton of people go and fired the guy that hired me.
He told me one story and someone else told me another.
Knowing this guy both are true.
Anyway as time went on the guys working there started quitting because they thought they saw the writing on the wall.
One guy just sat at the house drawing a paycheck but didn't go to work.
He left some poor old guy there that didn't know anything to try and do the job.
Not possible and this guy didn't care.
He quit or got fired or whatever months later.
Another big job two guys quit.
I'm out on my job by myself sick as a dog no helper because he quit all I can do is show up and tell the GC call me if it's an emergency because I'm about to die.
The GC was so sick he almost had to go to the hospital.
I was so far ahead I didn't need to do anything and I wasn't about to go to that other guys job and bail him out.
He should have came to work.

Now all hell is breaking loose on that job because sheetrock is up and no wire pulled.
They have turned into a bunch of screaming idiots.
The company I'm working for has created another company inside several other companies that I'm now working for I think.
The last two guys besides myself quit and went to work for someone else leaving yet two other jobs undone.
One sheetrock but they came in and cut out all our wire and I guess stole it.
The other with so many loose ends it unbelievable.
I would get to work before 7 and they wouldn't show up until almost or after 9.
Then they would leave at 2 or 2:30.
The guys out of the Dallas office are coming down and staying at an air BNB for the week and going home.
Anyway I'm the only person left from this area.
I don't really care what happens but I'm getting a check and I can't go any place else or I don't want to.
I am not in the position I agreed to be in when I got hired.
I was supposed to be looking at and taking care of the other jobs as a superintendent not a poor old guy running around with a ladder and a punk kid that didn't know how to do anything.
But before that could happen this company that bought us out had a better idea.
It was a huge mistake.
If things would have stayed the same I could have gotten rid of the trash long before it became a problem.
