First pickings are meagre pickings as usual, and a tad late I would say. Some nicer weather these last few days so fingers crossed this continues as there are some large beauties still growing....

Salicylic acid....
Just came across this link whilst looking at some gene info. I've done aspirin sprays on tomatoes in previous years but not this year (I forgot) but just thought a useful link..

Re: AmateurInAwe's Garden
Interesting site. Have you seen any difference in your tomatoes this year without the aspirin spray? And what was the strength of the aspirin mix you did use? I might want to tinker with this on a few tomatoes next year.Amateurinawe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 5:27 pm Salicylic acid....

Re: AmateurInAwe's Garden
@GoDawgs I have a couple of plants which seem to have corky root, and about 3 plants showing early signs of blight.
I previously used 1 tablets in a spray and also watered at planting time with about 2 tablets per watering can. So not scientific, but I felt they altogether seemed stronger last year....but the weather plays a big part in it so it is hard to say. This year's weather has not been great at all, especially summer.
I'm going to add again next year and water in as I plant. I'm not sure it will do any harm anyhow.

Re: AmateurInAwe's Garden
I got blight in mid-late July this year. It's in the greenhouse too, which I've not experienced before. It hasn't spread quickly in the outdoor tomatoes and I've not had any fruit affected yet.
