Has anyone grown Jantarnij Kubok? I probably got it in a swap. It's not listed in TTB and doesn't come up in searches, though the varieties Jantar and Amber might be the same thing.

I chose to grow it this year because (1) I wanted to grow a whole bed of determinates, and (2) I'm always looking for good orange tomatoes.

I picked about 15-20 of them in the past week and quite like them. Mine are more yellow than orange, small to medium salad size, with a mild taste on the sweeter side. The plant is about 4-5 ft. high and fairly dense.

With all the heat waves this summer, the determinates comprise probably 90% of what I've picked this year, so I'm happy to find determinates I like.

I found this in a 2006 post on the other site from Andrey
"Yantarnyi Kubok ~Amber Cup (Rus.>Eng.) >determinate * mid-early to midseason, det. plant with a good yield of orange, meaty, plum/roma shaped 80-100 g fruits, very reliable producer in any weather, fruits can be stored for 2 months, all-purpose use 50/90 from Russian CV Aelita"

Mine are oblate, not plum shaped. It looks similar to this one, called Amber

also at tomato fest...

and I looked at my past messages. I think I got the original seeds from #ColeRobbie!
