SNFLA

This season is my first time growing this variety and I have a few observations. I have 2 plants. One "in the ground" and one in a grow bag along with 6 other varieties. The one in the grow bag is up to 6-1/2 ft. tall as of 7-20-23. Also it is showing the least signs of any foliage disease and I'm very happy about that. All in all it's a pretty healthy looking plant. Only downside so far is it only has about 13 set fruit growing on it so far although there are quite a few flowers higher up on it. So I would expect to get more fruit set in the next few weeks. I'm probably about 2-3 weeks away from ripe fruit as of 7-20-23. As TORMATO has described this plant is always the tallest in his garden and I expect mine to go to 8 ft. or more by the end of August. So more will be revealed in the coming weeks and I'll update for anyone interested in this variety.

I have 7 varieties growing and 6 of them have disease of one kind or other...EXCEPT SNFLA which is disease free. Amazing !

OK so here is my first SNFLA starting to ripen. It is the lowest fruit on the bottom of the plant.

So it's going to rain for the next couple of days so I picked the first SNFLA today so it doesn't crack with the rain coming. I probably won't taste it for another 3-4 days.

My season is about over and there are 3-4 ripe or almost ripe fruit on this plant that I will pick in the next 4-5 days. That will make 26 fruit from this plant for the season not including the 7-8 fruit with BER that were tossed out. It's interesting to note that out of the 7 varieties grown this season SNFLA is the only one that had BER issues. My thoughts on this variety are that I probably won't grow it again because the taste was nothing special. The fruit were rather firm with a tendency toward a very slight sweetness. The fruit texture was a little different in that they were not very juicy. My largest fruit weighed slightly more than 16 oz. I'm glad to be able to trial this variety and I thank our friend Tormato for the seeds he sent.
