It's Arbor Day. The day to plant a tree to replenish what has been taken away.

Today I am planting a crabapple tree in my perennial garden.

We live a short distance from the beginnings of Arbor Day (Nebraska City). They put on a very nice celebration and give away lots of trees. Anyone visiting the area, all the Arbor Day festivities, museums and farms and orchards are worth it. Particularly the Apple Fests in the fall. Their on-line tree sales are low cost with a good assortment.

Is it bad luck to cut down a tree on Arbor Day? Tree has virtually dead.
