I don't even know where my mother is buried at.
Some place in Oregon called Rose Lodge I think.

The Gotch
I can't remember the guys last name she married after my father passed away.
I can honestly say there isn't a day in my life I don't think about my Mom and Dad.
I lost both of them when I was really young.
My dad when I was 19 and in the last week of Marine Boot camp and my Mom in a car accident out in Oregon when I was 21 and working in the Texas oil fields.
All I remember is her next husbands name was Ralph.
My oldest brother and best friend and mentor died when I was 22.
I do remember talking to my mom on the phone almost every week and we had made plans for me to go out and see her.
I was going to get married at about the same time as well.
I have no idea how the Texas DPS found me in San Angelo because I can't think of anyone that even knew where I was.
I was at my future wifes apartment taking a work break from Crane and they knocked on the door to tell me my Mom had passed away.
I guess they went around town in Crane asking questions and found out where I was by way of Nancy's Mom.
But anyway that's how I found out.
The Texas Highway Patrol told me.
What a hoot, I had no idea they even did such things.

Re: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Not trying to toss a wet rag on today just telling the story of my parents and my mom.
It's mostly a lesson from my experience.
If you have a mother or anyone you love don't take it for granted.
Make sure the last thing you say to your loved ones every day is to tell them you love them and mean it.
One of my favorite memories of my Mom is her having me haul these giant jars of pickles pickled beets and sauerkraut down to the basement to put on the shelves.
Us going out together and picking jalapenos in the garden and her and I making pickled jalapenos with garlic onions and carrots.
It wasn't always a bed of roses we had our arguments also.
One time in my judo years I gave her a stomach throw that almost broke her neck.
She flew across the living room and landed on the floor.
I was in the 4th grade.
The time I hugged her so hard when I came home from the Marines that I broke one of her ribs.
She taught me how to cook.
My sister couldn't care less about learning anything.
The middle of the night popcorn making in an oiled kettle not microwave.
Yes many people said my mom and I had a weird relationship because we acted like best friends but it didn't make me any less a man because I worked with my dad also.
Plus it didn't keep her from beating my butt when I did something wrong.
I remember her reading to me when I was a little kid.
I remember her when I was a baby blubbering my belly and me giggling like it was yesterday.
The practical jokes we played on each other.
The time she damned near caught the house on fire with a cigarette in the couch.
My dad and I came home and she had dragged the thing out in the yard with smoke rolling out of it.
The time the brakes went out on my one ton truck and it didn't stop until I was up against her window with me honking the horn to wake her up from her nap.
Scaring the crap out of her.
The time she was gripping at me about something and it distracted me and I ran under the overhead of a gas station and took out their sign and the cattle rack on the truck.
The best one was when I took a girl we all knew out on a date.
My parents were at the girls parents house.
We got back and I was driving them home.
She started grilling me about kissing the girl.
Did you kiss her.
Yes.
Where at she replied.
From the back seat of the car my Dad said on the a$$ where do you think he kissed her at leave him alone.
That ended that.
She was about 57 when a truck ran a stop sign and ended her and her new husbands life.
Far too damned young to lose your mom.
But I have never dwelled on it I've always remembered the good times.
