Bulgarskoe Chudo good bad?!

Hi, folks!

Question for those of you who have experience with the Bulgarskoe Chudo variety, how productive is it really?
Looks like it was introduced sometime in 2016 by Tatiana, from Russian seed and I'm wondering if it's the same variety as the one with the same name offered by a bunch of Russian websites. They describe it as extremely productive and producing extra large tomatoes.

After years and years of growing the usual over hyped on Tomatoville heirloom suspects and never been completely satisfied with them, due to low productivity, I'm looking for something that makes mostly large, pink or red, tasty tomatoes.
Polish Elles (from Sandhill) is one of the good ones I keep growing, due to its very good taste. Last year I found Giant Tree, which was not the greatest tasting but made many 1+ pounders.
Anything else I should be looking at?
If the sort is the same and someone has extra seeds, I have a bunch of 2024 seeds from Sandhill that I can trade for it- Terhune, Aunt Ginny P, Stump, Gyant Syrian, Tiffen Mennonite, etc.
Kind of tired of growing 50 different "great" varieties that only make 5-7 lb of fruit per plant.

i grew it a few years ago.
i don't recall how productive it was. seemed later, but then it might not have been a
warm enough summer here. we suffer from a lack of heat frequently.
they do produce some large tomatoes, with lots of seed cavities, so has some juice.
i am growing it this year. only had one seed sprout, so i will nurse it along, and make
sure i don't give it away like happened last year. wait, a second one has just come up.
i am growing it again this year to freshen up my memory on taste, and productivity.
people here who have grown it, like it. my seeds are about five years old, still lots of
life in them. might be some fresher ones available if thats what you want.

a couple stand outs in my garden that keep coming back due to productivity and taste
are milkas red bulgarian, and honey and sugar. the latter can produce some larger orange tomatoes.
people from my church that grew honey and sugar really liked it, and are asking for it again.
wladeck, is a pink polish tomato that i woke up from 10 year old seeds last year. this one did fairly
well in the production department, and taste was pretty good, so its coming back again this year.
sheryls portuguese red heart is an awesome tomato that i am growing again this year. another one i
like is armenian, a bi color. very good in the production, and taste category. that one is only just now
coming up after 12 days. hope it grows ok. seeds are available for all of them.

@rxkeith the original Pink Gift/Rosov Dar seeds came from Bulgaria.

there are some good tomatoes from bulgaria. i will have to check the seed box for that one
i may be gifted a few plants of as yet unknown varieties from a church member,
brother petio. he and his wife are from bulgaria. she is the gardener.

Gotch, Pink Gift does look like a Bulgarian variety, which means seeds are unavailable in the good ole USA. On the pack they do mention very good productivity and taste though, besides the XL size, so it sounds like exactly my type of tomato. Can you help a brother grower out with a few seeds?

That's the thing about Bulgarians, they will never grow something that only produces only a few pounds per plant. Their varieties are bred for productivity and taste, so like the description of Bulgarskoe Chudo says for example, they have to ripen at least 7-8 flowers clusters with 3-4 1+ pounders per cluster, so you end up with around 25lb per plant, which is great. What's the point of growing the over hyped Aunt Ginny's Purple and only get 10lbs of great tasting fruit, when you can grow something like Bulgaskoe Chudo or Pink Gift and get 25lbs?!

MissS, Polish C was always out of stock at Sandhill in the previous years, so I got seeds for the Polish one that Craig LeHoullier raves about, which I think is the same, Sandhill mislabel varieties all the time. It's the only potato leaf with roundish leaves. Grew it once, taste was outstanding but productivity wasn't that impressive. Maybe I'll try it again this year.

Keith, I tried Milka's one year but we had a late freeze at the end of May and the plant never shined after that, even though it was protected by a Wall O Water, got some tomatoes out of it, but nothing large like the description says. Might have been the seed though, got it from Delectation of Tomatoes and Dale does not pamper his tomatoes. If you have some extra authentic seed, I'd love to try it or anything else you deem tasty and productive.

Gotch, Pink Gift does look like a Bulgarian variety, which means SEEDS ARE UNAVAILABLE in the good ole USA. (bolds/caps/italics mine)

If that's the case, it'd be hard to put a price on getting a hold of some...am I right....?

Many varieties can be good or not as good, depending on your location, gardening experience, weather, disease pressures/local insect problems and the gods of chance, such as some varieties do great for my northern friends but not so here in Texas. Much can affect production.

Also, I do have to comment that in more than 30 years, I've not gotten any wrong seed or bad seed from Glenn at Sandhill. Sorry your experience was not good.

I grew it a couple of years ago and neglected to save seeds. It was a wonderful tomato, full flavored and bright. Production was good/ok. I am trying again with a variety called Bulgarian Pride which is supposed to be the same thing. Fingers crossed. What I grew did not look like those pictured in this thread. The fruit was smaller and not quite so round.
