13.99 for a hundred isn't a bad price. I'd really like to tag my rose bushes. There are things I thought I would never forget - it's almost time for me to be put out to pasture.

I like mine and they get good reviews on them. If you are really interested in getting something like this I can look back at my receipt and find out what brand I bought. Mine are doing great, and the wires are not bread ties like I see in a review on the ones I posted for reference.

Edit: I found what I bought, they are more expensive at almost double the price but the tags are big and I am able to use both sides of the tag for info such as, Plant Name, When to sow such as after last frost, Germination days, how deep and how far apart to sow the seeds, how many days to harvest. I have these on my dwarf fruit trees and blueberries as well.

For example I have a Leek one here I am looking at and here is how I am using them.

On the one side I have it labled as

Leek-American Flag
Sow After First Frost

On side two I have

Germ 10-15 days
Deep 1/2" Space 4"
Harvest 130 days

By doing it this way I can take the seeds out with the tags already made up and start planting. This also helps me write everything down I know I am planting and what day I am doing it. So, I take a handful of tags and seeds for plant day and write it all down with the same info so I can keep a record of what I have planted. On this list I note where I planted it, such as covered trellis, wood trellis, RKN Zone, etc. It has made it very easy for me to find what I am looking for. I also come back to this list when I see something has germinated and I note then when I can expect to harvest it. When I harvest I note when I was able to do that. I have found this to be a great way to keep track of what I am doing. I can't say though that I have kept up on all of the harvested things and when I started such as the beans, lol.

So, the tags cost more, but they are larger than most, get great reviews, and the best part is these are 100% made in USA. Win Win Win.

Hahaha, yes because by the time I get outside to plant I have forgotten the rules for the seed planting, even with just one packet, lol. I am getting old. Hahahaha.

Today I planted parsley, and afterwards I read the seed packet. It said for better germination freeze the seeds for five days, then soak them. OK more seeds are in the freezer.
Why can't I remember to read the seed packet first, there's already enough suspense involved to see if anything I plant will survive ...

Sounds just like me. I also know I am supposed to soak bean seeds before planting but do I remember that, nope and I read the packet first but forgot by the time I was sure to plant them, lol. Maybe that's why my parsley never came up, but I don't remember reading that on any package for it though.

Just putting the slats in the ground is fine initially, but once you mulch and the plants get bigger amnesia sets in.
Tears in my eyes when I tried using the "permanent" black magic marker and the names washed off.
Crying and gnashing of teeth.
I may go full length slats 2 or 3 glued together for rigid and stick the full length slat next to the plant.

Ha, great info. I always write the date on fluorescent tubes at work and the UV would "wear" it off after some years. Of course we've moved on to LED so no more UV. I just put some garden markers in my Amazon cart for next year's plant markers.

I have been using the P-Touch on my planters and they don't seem to fade at all. My only problem is on the vinyl-y planters they don't stick that well, and on my (polypropylene?) painted planters, I can't get them off and have to go over them with the new label if I change the variety. I have some other planters where they stick, but they also come off if you want to change them...so I guess it's a Goldilocks thing.

This is how I made markers for all the caged tomatoes I just set out. Piece on mini blind slat, china marker and large paperclip.
