@Kurt "Beer is less expensive than water."

Beer is water's leap toward immortality. I can see why you'd go for the Tall Boys, larger containers lose their cool de pronto in yer heat-n-humidity.

During the summer when The Gotch is on vacation, he prefers his...um...1st of the day to be a brown-bagged 40.

I have good news.
I'm starting my new job next week.
I was talking a little time off to wind down and get the stress out of my system.
I called a friend of mine that works where I used to work.
He was off and at home recuperating from a horrible wreck he had on 35 in the company vehicle.
He took his eyes off the road for a second and looked up just in time to see the car and traffic that was at a dead stop in front of him.
The poor guy was really upset and thought he had killed someone.
He was injured but all he was concerned about was the lady he hit.
He limped to the car bleeding trying to help this lady and make sure she was okay totally oblivious to his injuries.
These are the kinds of good people I typically surround myself with.

Saved a baby Snapping Turtle this a.m., same place along Milward, and heading in the wrong direction.

Li'l guy/gal was alive but seemed out of it; I did my part by taking it to Odana Pond in order to gave it a fighting chance.

Day before yesterday job turned into a possible nightmare.
It appeared wire was cut above sheetrock ceiling loaded with insulation.
Need to cut holes and pull new wire.
Something seemed off.
Got to work before everyone so I could investigate on my own without interruptions from others.
Back tracking what everyone else had done I found the problem and fixed it without cutting holes in ceiling.
They asked me how I fixed it and I replied trade secrets.
Fairly nice group of people to work with no questions about what I do and their happy to have me from what I can tell.
It's amazing how a caustic culture can infest a company coming from one overbearing manager.
I actually talked to my old project manager for 30 minutes on the phone yesterday on the way to work.
We had a good conversation about the events going on there.
One was about the job I walked away from and left the company.
It turned into a total nightmare with even the caustic operations manager working till all hours of the night.
They had sent out an all hands on deck to help with the job and nobody showed up.
Basically an f you and they can't do anything about it.
I had warned him and he didn't listen to me.
The s of a b always thought he was smarter than everyone else and wouldn't listen.
Running around the office screaming and yelling at people.
The day I quit I didn't want to talk to him but he came in anyway apologizing and told me how much he liked my work, but I told him it was too late I had made up my mind.

I guess some people aren't old enough to remember the days of sonic booms overhead.
When I was a kid I lived in an area where the sky seemed to be full of all manner of military aircraft many dating back to world war 2 on up to them modern times.
Sonic booms took place every day.
The recent event where they scrambled the fighter jets to overtake the plane that invaded airspace over DC and breaking the sound barrier must have been quite a shock to some people.

What with all that's going on in the world today I sometimes feel I've found myself in the story "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" by Edgar Allan Poe.

Valentina's well known Mexican BBQ has officially moved out of Austin and into Buda Texas.
Several reasons why but no mystery there either.

Looks like the submarine diving on the Titanic didn't stand a chance.
Sudden implosion.
Water pressure at that level was about 5500 psi more or less.
The Titanic takes more lives.

we normally have some of the cleanest air to be found.
not right now. canada wild fires have created a haze, and the burning smell can not
be over looked. several people i know with asthma or other breathing issues are having
flare ups, and those like myself with no issues to speak of are coughing, sniffling or sneezing
more. we need a good rain to help put out the fires, and clear the air.

We're on Weber Lake in Iron County (https://dnr.wi.gov/lakes/LakePages/Lake ... ic=2909000) ~ 12 miles/19.3 kms south of Saxon Harbor on The Gitch (https://www.travelwisconsin.com/campgro ... ina-203912) and it rained like crazy on both Friday AND Saturday; that miss you's?

if we got rain friday it was light.
it did rain saturday thru early monday morning a good amount.
unfortunately, air quality is even worse than before. it must not be raining
or raining enough in canada. strong smell of burning in the air, particulate matter is high,
and there are advisories in some places to limit time outside. heavy overcast right now. we could
get more rain. it is looking a little apocalyptic at the moment.

I don't often see a movie that throws me for a loop but last night was an exception.
It as called Radius.
I pretty much figured out what was going on in the first half but the end really threw me for a loop and totally a surprise.
Great science fiction type movie in my opinion.
It's very much like a Stephen King story.
It's also Best not to read about it and just watch the thing.

Never even heard of it but when it shows up for free off HBO or whatever I'll look for it.
Sounds interesting.

I like movies where food is part of the storyline.

The Hundred Foot Journey and Tortilla Soup are two of my favorites.
Chocolate from 2000 with Johnny Depp is a good one too.
Oh and we can't forget Charlie and the chocolate factory with him as well.
What a nut job.
Other favorites not related to food are The Grey Zone and The Book Thief.
Both about the Nazis the Jewish folks and WWII.

Had some 20 year old kid walk off my job the other day without telling me he was leaving.
Earlier in the day he let me know my bosses girlfriend was his mom like it was supposed to mean something to me.
He wouldn't answer the phone or s text so I just didn't give a crap anymore.
Talk to my boss yesterday about him.
I said I guess I must have to ticked the kid off.
He said yes he thinks you're an a$$ hole and talks down to everyone.
I just laughed and said he was a snowflake.
I didn't bother telling my boss what happened and didn't have to explain because he already knew what was going on.
We've known each other for over 20 years.
All I was doing was asking the punk if he knew how to do certain things and then prove it to me.
Sure enough it was wrong.
Like I've got time to run around fixing people's crap all day.
Been there and done that trusting these young punks and won't do it again.
These little jerks don't think they have to work their way up, they want it now.
Total problem with people these days.
