Wearing wet flip flops on the sides of the hill where I live will almost get you killed.
It happened to me one time too many.

No garden hat, here.

The only time I wear a hat is in keeping my ears warm, which means the garden will be frozen.

Not a hat all the time here either. If I'm needing a haircut, a hat won't stay on very well when I'm bending over to weed, pick beans, etc. That's when the trusty bandana works the best.

My favorite garden hat is a toque for the blackfly weather. Even if it's a bit warm, it keeps them out better than any ball cap or sun hat.
